As Jiwon settled into the front seat of Jay's car, the darkness of the night felt heavier. The dim interior, illuminated only by faint streetlights, left her feeling uneasy. The faint hum of the engine was the only sound she could hear as she glanced around, wondering why it was so dark outside.

Jake, having left his bike near the spot where Jay had parked his car, now walked back to check on Jiwon. His eyes caught the silhouette of the car, and he noticed the light flickering on, which startled Jiwon. Her wide eyes met his, and Jake’s expression shifted from confusion to alarm. “Wait…where the heck did he park this thing?” Jake muttered under his breath.

As Jiwon looked out the window, her heart skipped a beat. The car was parked right at the start line of the race track. The countdown was already beginning, and the roar of engines filled the air, drowning out any attempt Jake made to communicate with the race officials.

In a flash, Jake rushed towards the car, realizing the precarious situation. “Hey, hey! This car isn’t participating!” he tried shouting, but the cacophony of revving engines and cheering crowds made it impossible for his voice to carry. He could see the girl at the starting line preparing to blow the whistle, oblivious to his frantic gestures.
