As the party wound down and the last of the guests began to leave, the once-bustling mansion started to feel eerily quiet and empty. Jiwon glanced at her watch—11 p.m. already. “It’s so late,” she muttered to herself.

Eugene, noticing her concern, looked over with a thoughtful expression. “Tell your parents you’re sleeping over,” she suggested casually.

Jiwon’s eyes widened in surprise. “I can’t just do that,” she replied, feeling uneasy about the sudden change in plans. “I can’t just call them and say I won’t be home out of nowhere.”

Jay frowned at this. “Why not? Is it really that big of a deal?”

Jiwon nodded, feeling her anxiety rise. “Of course it is.”

Eugene, seeing Jiwon’s hesitation, took a more conciliatory approach. “Ah, I’ll ask my mom to call your mom and ask if you can stay over. We can try at least,” she said, her tone hopeful.

Jiwon remained unsure, but Eugene’s playful smile made her reconsider. “Please,” Eugene added, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. “Besides,” she continued, with a mischievous grin, “the real fun is yet to begin.”

Jiwon looked at her, puzzled by the cryptic remark. “Oh?” she asked, curious about what Eugene meant.

Jake, who had been quietly observing, shook his head and sighed. “You guys,” he said, as if resigned to their antics. He moved over to a couch and sat down, clearly preparing for a bit of downtime.

Jay and Eugene exchanged amused glances. “So, should we call Auntie?” Eugene asked, glancing back at Jiwon with a hopeful look.

Jiwon sighed, feeling cornered but recognizing the genuine excitement in Eugene’s voice. “Okay, we can try,” she murmured, giving in to their enthusiasm.

Eugene’s face lit up with a triumphant smile. “Great! Let’s make the call and see if we can make this night even better.” She bounced over to where her phone was and began dialing, while Jay leaned back with a grin, clearly enjoying the playful determination of his friends.

As Jiwon waited anxiously, she couldn’t help but wonder what Eugene had planned for the rest of the night and if she would be able to fully embrace the unexpected adventure.

“Finally!” Eugene exclaimed as she and Jiwon came down the stairs. Jay and Jake were lounging on the sofa, their expressions full of excitement.

“Guess what? Jiwon’s mom agreed after I spoke with her on the phone!” Eugene said with a triumphant smile.

Jiwon, who had already been informed, nodded. “Yes, my mom was fine with it.”

“That’s perfect,” Jay said, clearly pleased. “Let’s get ready to head out.”

Jiwon looked puzzled. “What do you mean?”

Jay explained, “We’re having a proper party—a pool party, just for us and a few friends.”
