sooooo it's been a very long time since I updated this lovely story, but I just wanted to say thank you for all the love and support. I really appreciate it all. last time I said I was 39 weeks pregnant but now I am a mother to a beautiful 2-month-old. it's been a process and adjustment, but I have an amazing support system. anywayyyy I plan on posting at least a chapter a day if not more.
We reach the dining hall and surprisingly no one is to be seen.
"Where is everyone?" I say
"I wish I could tell you Luci, I haven't seen anyone for a while now" he says
"How strange" I say
I hear nothing but crickets all around. The silence was so loud it was making my ears ring. I wonder where everyone went. I know that they are all adults and have their own lives but it's still weird for them not to at least mention going somewhere.
"Is something the matter, Luci?" he asks
"Oh, sorry I was in my head" I say with a slight smile
"You seem to do that a lot" he says
"Do what?" I ask
"Space out" he says
I didn't really think it was that obvious. For him to just mention it like that, I guess I get trapped in my thoughts a lot around him.
"Yeah, I do, sorry" I say with nervous laughter
"No need to apologize Luci, I was just simply pointing it out I didn't mean to offend you in anyway" he says
"No no it's not like that; you didn't hurt my feelings at all" I say
"Oh, that is splendid, I really would hate to upset you" he says
"Why is that deer?" I ask teasingly
"So, I don't ruin a good thing before it gets better" he says while kissing the back of my hand
"Let's hope so" I say
I was not expecting his answer. In fact, he tends to surprise me with everything he answers to my questions. He is so charming, I never thought I would see this side of him before.
"Is there anything you would like for breakfast?" he asks
"You can cook?" I ask
"Yes, just because I prefer to eat some dead things doesn't mean I never learned how to cook" he says
"Alright then, surprise me" I say
"Very well" he says
Alastor begins getting pans and ingredients out. From what he chose to cook with it looks like he is making French toast. I like French toast, I just hope it will be delicious. He starts bathing the bread in the egg and then putting it in the pan to cook.
He then proceeds to get the butter out and set it on the counter. He finishes cooking the bread and plates them. He smothers them with butter and syrup and then he tops it off with powdered sugar. He brings the plates over to the table and sets them down.
He then pours two glasses of milk and brings them over as well. He sits down next to me, and he doesn't take a bite. "Is everything okay?" I ask
"I'm waiting for you to take a bite first" he says
"Alright then" I say
I pick up the fork and cut a piece of the French toast and put it on the fork. I bring it close to my mouth and take a bite. Instantly my taste buds love the dish, and I go for another bite and then another.
"Glad to see it's a hit" he says while eating his own food
"So, Luci, shall we go on another date today? Asks Alastor
"What you enjoyed my company that much" I said teasingly
"And so, what if I did, is there a problem with that?" he asks playfully
"No no problem at all at least from my end" I say while eating the last of my food
"The only problem I have is that you and I haven't done this sooner in life" he says
"That's because I thought you were a pretentious asshole with no heart" I say
Alastor looks taken aback by my words but then opens his mouth. "And what do you think of me now?"
"Now I think you are still an asshole but a sweet one" I say with a smile
He starts to laugh "I guess I'll take what I can get" he says
"Oh, and to answer your question I would love to go on a second date with you" I reply
"Very well then, I have just the thing in mind" he says
I don't know whether to be afraid or flattered but I'm sure he wouldn't choose anything dangerous to take me to or at least I hope not. I guess I will just have to see what he has planned for us. Can't say I'm not nervous though.
