Indigo slept better than she ever had against Caspian's chest. She knew that they were making progress, even if it was small. And she knew that Paris and Sasha were here, under one roof with her, protection all around them.

For once, she felt rested and relaxed when she woke up, yawning and stretching like a pleased cat. Caspian snored away beside her so she pressed a soft kiss to his cheek, admiring the way he smiled in his sleep, and rose to prepare for the day ahead.

When she was dressed and in the kitchen, Sasha was already seated at the kitchen table, peeling an orange. It was such a small thing, a tiny thing, but seeing Sasha and Paris have the chance to have proper food whenever they wanted was such a blessing. Even though Caspian's pack was not rich by any means, there was still so much to be grateful for every day.

"You all ready for your day out?" Indigo asked, filling a glass of water for herself.

"Yeah, I'm looking forward to getting some new stuff. It's been a while since I could treat myself and I don't really think the word 'budget' is in that big block head's vocabulary. Especially when it comes to me. I swear if I put a price tag on myself, he jump all over the opportunity to pay his dues instead of put in the work."

Indig considered Sasha for a moment, saw the woman she was now, but also, the teen that she once was. The scared girl who was desperate to regain some kind of control over her life. The girl who just wanted to be loved and held, no matter who offered their open arms.

"You know we would never push you into anything you didn't want, right?" Indigo asked.

Sasha shrugged.

"When Caspian tried to mark me, both Forest and Bentely offered to let me stay somewhere else. I didn't doubt them for a second, even when I made the decision to come here instead. They are good men."

"Bentley is stronger than Forest and Caspian, has more influence," Sasha stated flatly.

"Caspian and Forest would keep you safe. And if they couldn't, they wouldn't let you stay here. They would take you to Albert or anywhere that you might be better off."

"Yeah, okay," Sasha said.

Indigo sighed, understanding this woman so deeply. How was she supposed to trust anyone?

"Bentley is a good guy from what I've seen and I know Caspian and Forest are voting in his favor, too. I want you to give him a chance because I think he might make you happy, but I also need you to know that I would never force you into anything."

Sasha stared at the grain in the wood before her. "Come on, Indigo. He has money and—"

"I love you, you idiot. He couldn't pay me enough, neither can your dad. End of story," she said sharply, her eyes flashing. "You being unhappy would kill me. And I know you understand that because I know you feel the same way about me."

Sasha finally, finally, let a small smile slip. "Yeah, okay. But I'm still going to let him spend his money on me and Paris. She needs new shoes. Hers are so worn down. Speaking of which, I should probably wake her up so we can get going."

"Do you want me to call Forest?" Indigo offered.

"Nah, not today. Paris and I will be okay by ourselves, I think."

Indigo helped the two girls prepare for their day and watched them leave, feeling like a mother hen as they climbed into Bentley's car. She held back a little laugh when the massive alpha tried to open the passenger door for Sasha and received the verbal equivalent of a whipping.

"Just the three of them?" Caspian rumbled from behind her.

She hadn't thought about it when she got dressed this morning, but her cropped tee shirt and her tight leggings made it incredibly easy for her mate to touch bare skin when he slid his arm around her waist. She had a hard time focusing on anything else.
