I hugged Adam only to find out that the squishy softness of the material I was grasping at was not him. It was just a pillow. I blinked and I scanned our room. There was no light coming from the windows which means we slept for two days straight. I actually felt that coming, I could feel myself being tired which sucked. It wasn't like normal human weakness. It was worse!
Where is Adam...
I removed the covers from my body and got up. I touched my necklace just in case Taylor removed it from my neck. I quickly put on my coat and walked out of the room and looked around the halls. This inn was actually quite nice. I was very grateful for their service.
It was also free. But who would dare make two vampires pay? Hehe.
I walked out of the corridors and passed the lobby. I stepped out into the streets and it was snowing lightly. The snow melted before it touched the earth. The snow flakes falling from the sky was so stunning. So beautiful.
I reached out to touch them and caught one, it laid frozen on the tip of my finger. It wouldn't melt at my touch because I'm cold. I don't feel the cold of my body though. I walked away in search of Adam. I didn't feel him inside of the inn.
I used my super senses to try and spot him. I caught something, something inhuman. I could hear sounds that I couldn't make out. It sounded like a gushing sound. I followed the sounds and kept passing a few stores and houses. The streets were quiet and lifeless.
"Adam?" I called out as I turned around the corner and I wished I hadn't.
Adam quickly looked back at me, blood dripping from his mouth. His eyes filled with hunger and darkness. The victim in his hands was lifeless, no heart was beating, not even a breath. He killed the poor person...Adam...
I ran away using my speed, even though it hurt. I didn't want to see that. I didn't want to see Adam like this. A monster. I heard his running foot steps going after me so I ran faster. I wanted to cry but I held the tears back. I was too scared to cry.
I might be a vampire but I'm still human. The reason why I'm dying. But I still have my regular emotions and my normal eating. I don't need blood. I heard Adam screaming my name, but only both of us could hear it because of our speed.
I ran faster and faster, not looking back. I had to stop suddenly as I almost ran over a cliff. I looked back and saw the town very far away and then I saw Adam running towards me. He stopped a few feet away from me. He saw the pain in my eyes and so his eyes went back to normal.
"I'm sorry." Was all he said.
"I'm sorry doesn't bring that innocent person back to life now does it?" I didn't look at him. Instead I looked below at the crashing waves of the ocean. Each wave was destructive and it made the earth shake with it's fury.
"I lost control. I'm sorry." He took a step towards me but I raised my hand to stop him.
"You said you don't lose control."
"I do after I don't feed for a while."
"You drank my blood the other day." I noted. "And the next."
"Your blood isn't the same. It isn't satisfying anymore."
"Why didn't you tell me then? You didn't have to kill an innocent person!" I was losing control over my voice.
