Heihachi was silent for a few moments when Shasha and Hwoarang explained to him about the older woman that was planning a comeback.
"She's planning to trash the party with her unexpected reappearance, but I was thinking that maybe we can ask her to come this weekend instead?" Shasha explained. "It's better to do it when everyone's there, but not a grand party that you're working so hard for, instead of having them deal with all of this alone."
Heihachi sighed. "Can you call her now?"
Shasha nodded and took her phone out. "She was actually there when we went for lunch together in Sheralbon yesterday." She said as she looked for her number.
Hwoarang looked at her in surprised. "What? You serious?"
"Yes, she was the lady with the scarf and sunglasses, the one that spoke to me and Steve, and spilled juice all over Ella," Shasha added. She placed her phone in the middle of the table and set the call on speaker.
"Hallo!" The lady amiably greeted as soon as she picked up the call. "You're gonna tell me of this grand plan of yours?"
"Yes," Shasha sighed. "I'm with the person in charge of it."
Heihachi gave her a strange look while Hwoarang suppressed a snort.
"Person in charge? What are you planning, pet?" The lady sounded confused now.
Shasha sighed at the way she was being addressed. "Alright, it's like this. All of us are going to Mr Heihachi's house this Friday, evening. We are also having a sleepover, no?" She nodded questioningly at Heihachi.
Heihachi frowned and shook his head. "No. It's true that I've invited everyone over on Friday, but it's not a sleepover. Lee invited everyone over to his house on Saturday."
"Oh..." Shasha frowned. "I didn't know that..."
The lady chuckled. "Tell you what, I make my entrance on Sunday instead. It's Mother's Day, after all."
"Yeah, but where?" Hwoarang piped up. "Friday at Heihachi's, Saturday in Lee's. What about Sunday?"
"Can you call Lee now?" Heihachi said, pointing at Hwoarang. "I don't have his number."
Hwoarang nodded and took his phone out.
"I'll call you back, Madam," Shasha said. "We need to ask Lee."
"Oh, Anna's husband, Excellent!" The lady chuckled. "Alright, you guys do that. I'll be waiting right here with my cup of tea."
With that she hung up.
"I thought you said she was a retired assassin or something?" Heihachi piped up as soon as she hung up. "She doesn't seem like one."
"That's because she never retired," Shasha said. "But I have no idea how she's this chirpy."
"Uncle Lee's on the phone," Hwoarang said as he placed his phone down on the table.
Just then, Amber came up and joined them. She wanted to ask what was going on, but there was a phone with ring back emanating from it on the middle of the table. So she quietly sat to see what the issue was.
"Hello?" Lee said as soon as he answered. "Yeah, I don't have that much time since I'm at work, Hwo."
"Is Anna with you?" Shasha asked.
"No, she took Tori out to get her diaper changed," Lee said. "Is this important?"
"Yes," Shasha sighed. "Remember the lady I mentioned?"
"Yes?"
"She's planning a comeback this Sunday," Shasha said.
There was silence from Lee's end for a moment before he finally spoke. "Okay... but how is she gonna do it?"
"That's why we called you," Heihachi piped up. "You invited us over this Saturday, we were just thinking that maybe we can sleepover as well."
"I thought... that was the initial plan?" Lee said, sounding confused. "I thought I told you guys that we can have a sleepover this weekend?"
"Oh..." everyone with the exception of Amber uttered in unison.
"So it's good, then?" Hwoarang asked. "If she comes over to your place?"
Lee sighed. "Sure, I guess. But I'm scared of the emotional consequences that might happen."
"All of us are scared of that," Amber said, having understood what the situation was from the context of the conversation. "By the way, Oneesan is making her signature Getanha as well."
There were smiles around the table.
"Excellent, I love that cake of hers," Lee chuckled. "By the way, I have to leave now. Ciao!"
Hwoarang ended the call and retrieved his phone, then looked at the rest around him for a response.
"So I guess... that's settled, then?" Shasha said. "I'll call her again."
Shasha called her and put the call on speaker mode.
"Hallo!" The old lady greeted again. "Any updates?"
Heihachi nodded before speaking. "You can come to Lee's this Sunday. Shasha will send you the address."
"Oh, that's marvellous!" The lady gleefully said. "I'll bring you guys some gifts too. Thanks for arranging this!"
With that, she hung up and the four of them were left to look at each other.
"She sounds very cheerful," Amber finally broke the silence.
Shasha sighed. "Tell me about it. She even stalked Ella!"
"To be honest, I think she deserved that," Hwoarang piped up. "She's just a really cursed friend."
"Who's this now?" Heihachi asked, interested.
"Some friend of mine," Shasha sighed. "Started ghosting me a while back, stopped replying to my messages and whatnot. We didn't have a fight or anything, by the way." Just then, she remembered what happened that morning. "Oh my gosh, you won't believe what happened this morning."Jin put his plan together for Mother's Day. He still had no idea of the bombshell that would be landing in front of him that day as he peacefully thought about what he would do for his mother.
That was until Amber called him to say that he should cancel whatever it is that he had planned.
"But why?!" Jin exclaimed in shock. "Everything's ready!"
"Yeah, but we're having a slight change of plans," Amber sighed. "She's coming this Sunday."
Jin gasped. "Oh darn..."
"We're doing this at Lee's," Amber said. "So it's a little more... I don't know how to say this. A little acceptable?"
"Yeah, I guess," Jin sighed. "Everyone's gonna be there."
"Yes, everyone," Amber said. "Even Heihachi."
"Joyful," Jin shook his head.
Amber snorted. "Joyful indeed. Anyway, I'll be a little late for lunch today, okay? I'm still out with our friend."
"Right, our friend," Jin snorted. "Okay, I'll wait for you."
He looked up after ending the call and was startled to see Adam standing there.
"What's up?" Jin asked.
Adam held up the sheaf of papers in his hand, then placed them down on Jin's desk . "Just came in for this."
The blond was about to leave when Jin called him back. "Adam, wait."
He turned around to look at Jin and saw him looking a little nervous.
"Everything alright, Jin?" Adam asked.
Jin got up and stepped away from his desk. "Have a seat."
Adam watched in surprise as Jin hurried off to lock all of the doors that led into his office before telling him to have a seat again. Without much of a choice, the blond sat down to see what Jin had to say.
"Adam, I have something important to tell you," Jin pushed his chair closer to his desk. "It's something serious."
Adam frowned. "What is it? Should I get Nina and Steve."
Jin shook his head. "No. I only need to speak to you. This is something about them."
"What's up?" Adam's frown deepened.
