Drake's pov

"Please have your meal My lord," the maid said as she kept the food in front of me

"I don't want to eat take this back." I told her and she looked hesitant

"Can't you hear me? I told you to take it back." I shouted and she took it back scared

"Keep it here and leave." I heard lady Dahlia say as she ordered the maid

"What's bothering you Drake? Why aren't you eating?" she asked me

"Because I'm not hungry." I told her Flatley hoping she will take the cue and leave from here but instead of leaving she sat in front of me

"Are you missing your mother? I can understand it's really hard to not but what can you do? She chose to die, that's not your fault." she said and I glared at her

I hate her whenever she used to visit us, mother and father would quarrel about something or other.

"I don't want you to be here, so you can't be here." I told her but she didn't looked happy with my decision it seems

"She is going to be your new mother so give her respect." My father's voice rang loudly in my room

I stood up and bowed in front of him. Mother taught me to do that always.

"With all the respect Duke she can be your wife but not my mother. My mother is" a harsh slap cut me off in middle

He didn't allow me to complete it as a kick landed on my stomach making me fall on the ground.

My head hurt because It came into contact with the hard floor.

"How dare you disrespect her? She is the new dutchess and your mother, your pathetic biological mother was a weakling who killed herself for creatures of heaven knows what." He said but i wasn't listening my head was hurting I'm sure it's bleeding

I hate blood! I don't like blood at all, it's very bad. When my mother was here nobody could talk to me in a loud tone and father slapped and kicked me together for an outsider.

Why did you leave me mother? Why did you leave me here to suffer without you?

He pulled me by holding me by my hair and made me stand in front of lady Dahlia.

"Apologize to her right now you ungrateful bastard just because you're my legal heir I'm not killing you or else I would have killed you as well." father said and I looked at him with teary eyes

"You're hurting me father." I told him but he didn't listen

He never did. Why mother? Are you happy to see me like this?

"My Duke, don't be so harsh with the child he just lost his mother yesterday. You don't have to apologize to me Drake, I forgave you already." she said to him

"You're so generous Dahlia but as his mother you need to be strict with him." he told softly to her

"Apologize," he said harshly again and it was for me and I did it

I don't know why he is behaving like this with me. What is my fault in this? Why can't he love me?

I thought maybe it was the end now he would leave me alone but he didn't.

"Because you disrespected your mother you will starve here until our marriage ceremony is done. I can't tolerate a pathetic kid like you as my heir." He said and left with her

I was bleeding and hurt. I wanted my mother but she wasn't here. Nobody came to check on me even though the food was taken away.

Because my mother left me all the miseries came to me. I hate you mother for leaving me here to suffer.
