Leah's pov 

"Where are we going today Carlos? You know very well today again Duke's men will come. Why are you taking me outside?" I asked looking around me carefully to check if any of the royal men are coming or not 

They are really bad, so is the Duke. I am so scared of him. I don't understand what kind of man he is? He claims that he is the God yet he fails to provide protection to the orphan girls in his kingdom. 

I pray that I never cross paths with him or his men. I haven't seen the Duke ever nor I wish to. 

"Exactly that's why I'm taking you to my uncle's farm. No guard will come searching for girls there." He said and I hummed in response 

So thoughtful of him I really appreciate it. He is really a great friend of mine. 

"So when will you join the army? Your father is going to retire in a few years right?" I asked him as we reached the farm 

"I am planning to escape from here just need enough money to live somewhere else that's it." He said and I gasped 

He is planning to escape this hell and he didn't even bother to inform me huh. He isn't a great friend anymore. 

*When would you have said that to me? Or were you planning to leave without informing me?" I asked him placing my hands on my waist 

I was giving him a sharp look trying to portray that I'm really angry with him. He was quiet and looked at me with different emotions in his eyes. 

"I will take you with me Leah. Without you I won't step out of this place. You have no one else to take care of you so I will take care of you for our whole life." He said seriously making me speechless 

"I have my own self for me Carlos, thank you so much for being so thoughtful about me."I told him as I didn't liked his choice of words 

Everyone in this world has their own selves if not anyone else. So no one is alone. 

"Yes I know my dear Leah but you need to be with a man right? Anyways I will be with you always so you don't have to worry about anything. For now let's pick some fresh vegetables for the soup." He said and I didn't argued more 

I was picking up vegetables when suddenly I heard some animal coming towards me running. I turned around to find it was a Deer. 

Someone has shot an arrow to his leg. The poor guy is hurt. I picked him up and examined his body for more wounds. 

"Give me the deer, it's mine." I heard a knight saying who came here 

Oh no! The royal knights are hunting here? Thank goodness I have covered my face completely to avoid male gazes. They can't see me but I can. 

"It's hurt but alive sir, you can't take it." I told him politely 

I felt really bad for this poor animal that's why I denied giving him the Deer. 

"It's mine. I have hunted it so give it to me." The knight said again 

Following him many more knights came here and one man was riding a horse as well. He was covered making it hard for me to see him. 

Why will someone cover themselves like this as if they are going on a war? We aren't having any war going on either then? 

"Give the Deer back girl." the man riding horse said and his voice was so deep and scary
