Drake's pov 

I stared at my reflection in the mirror and tried to find out what I lacked. Do I look bad or too old? Am I not appealing enough? The answer to all those questions is No. 

I'm perfect from every single side and any girl will be elated to be with me then why is Leah not? She thinks I can't read through her lies but I can. She keeps her head down whenever I'm near her. Her replies are short and calculated. 

I am doubting she is up to something but then again no one can go against me and live peacefully. Then will she do this foolishness? I hope not. 

"My lord, I have news for you. May I come inside?" a knight came whom I had given duty to stay around Leah's Orphanage and said 

"Come inside and tell me!" I gave him the permission 

"My lord our duchess is meeting a boy frequently and it seems like they both are planning something. That boy is the son of our chief." he said and I raised my eyebrow 

Leah is meeting a boy everyday even after I fixed our alliance? Is it a way of defiance or something more than that? 

"keep an eye on them. I need details of everything if anything happens." I told him and he nodded 

"Now you can leave and yes, did you send our spy inside the Orphanage?" I asked him 

"Yes she is there as a new cleaner." He replied bowing his head ready to leave 

"Good." I said and he nodded 

He knows his work here is finished. That's why he left without wasting a single word. 

I hope you're not doing something foolish Leah because I may not show any mercy on you once again. I forgave you once for rejecting my proposal, not again. If you do pull a stunt you will be facing my worst side. 

I was feeling restless and waiting for the news. I'm sitting in front of Leah. Telling her about our marriage but she has zero Interest in that conversation which is making me more anxious. She has no reason to leave me then why will she think that? She will love me, she has to. If not with love then with fear she will accept me. 

I saw my spy bringing water for me which I didn't ask to bring. That means she has some news. 

"Leah, why don't you go and put this dress on to show me?" I asked her and she left nodding her head 

"My lord, she is planning to elope with Carlos." she told me and I closed to my eyes to calm my anger 

"When?" I asked her controlling my rage 

"Tonight." she said and I was done playing nice 

If she wants it to be dirty then let it be dirty. I will show her with whom she has messed up. 

"Good let her escape, I will catch her. Do you know the plan?" I asked her and she told me whatever she heard 

"Fine," that's all I said when I saw Leah coming wearing the dress 

I kept myself normal and stretched my lips in a smile. She was indeed looking beautiful just like my mother but her fate won't be the same as my mother. She won't leave me alone. She will take care of me and our babies with care and love. She won't leave me like my mother. 

I bid bye to her and came back to my castle. Called the chief knight whose son is Carlos. 

He was begging for his son's life but doesn't he know begging will get him nothing?
