Finally the day arrived, father Mendez stood at the pulpit and was about to begin the surmon that he had prepared. There was a good number of gathering, people seeking help and answers to life's questions that battled agaist their faith. He looked at them and put his notes aside and addressed them.

Father Mendez, "I prepared a lot about what I had to speak but if I talk about what I prepared I feel I might miss out on answering the questions that exists in your hearts and I specifically want the youth among you to tell me what is their understanding about faith and values to be men and women seeking the benifit of others and helping those in need."

A young boy stood up from among the congregation and said, "young people in this town have always seeked the needs of their families before them, we have left the comforts of our home and travelled to far off places where we toil day and night to secure needs of those depending on us, for in this place we have failed to sustain. We are poor people father and we have lived all our lives subjected to hardships and now our very lives are under danger, for men have died in recent times. Innocent men, killed by our enemy who seeks to destroy us. No one has an answer or understanding of what is destroying us. We want you to help us, we want you to pray to God to lift us from these dark times and reward us with his blessings."

The young boy shocked everyone with his reply.
Father Mendez, smiled and said, "For sure I am here to pray for all you people and ask for God's blessing but let me tell all you people, having young men with such a character as this boy you are already blessed." then for a few hours he continued to preach and encouraged them as most were living in fear and confusion.

For two days the priest and Jessica stayed among the people and lifted their sprites high. They had a very special place now in the hearts of the people of Edunsteen and on the last day there was a fellowship meal arranged to give them a celebrated farewell.
