A Dead Man's Bride - Cursed One

Chapter 30

This encounter which James has written in his diary and continued writting even after death made it all clear to father Mendez that why the land was cursed and who was responsible for all the deaths. Now he knew where Jessica could be found and he rushed into the woods again, locating the place where Naamak had performed the unholy ritual of creating a blood bond between Katina, James and himself.

Father Mendez on reaching there found Jessica being layed with in a circle and Naamak in his reb robes enchanting. He looked at this sight from a little far off distance and was about to intervene, when he heard Jessica' father Mr. Collins calling out her name. His voice reached the ears of Naamak too and he quickly transfigured into the wolf beast and rushed towards the source of the voice. Father Mendez turned around as well to warn Mr. Collins about what was coming towards him but then he was stopped by the sprite of James.

James, "father look around, this is the oppurtunity for you to go and save Jessica. Don't worry about Mr. Collins, I will go and warn him against the danger that is coming towards him."

Father Mendez, "God be blessed, you have been our greatest help James. Go quickly warm him."

Father Mendez rushed towards Jessica and woke her up from her unconsiousness.

Father Mendez, "get up dear one, we need to quickly move out from here. Come on, I have learnt how this curse can be put to an end."

Jessica (as she woke up), "what happened to me? Where are we father."

Father Mendez, "I will explain everything to you, right now come with me. We need to set things right. Romans 12:21 do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

He helped her up and proceeded towards the chaple. On the other side James warned Mr. Collins about the danger but he did not believe, infact he took a stance against James to shoot him thinking that he was lieing about Jessica and father Mendez but then the moment he shot him he was shocked to see that the bullet just went through him.

Mr. Collins, "what are you, you monster and what have you done to my daughter."

James, "its too late sir, call all the back up you have with you because what you are about to face is your worst nightmare."

Saying this the sprite of James disappeared and what stood in front was the beast, growling and with blood in his eyes. Mr. Collins had never seen a monster like this before and before the beast could attack, he called out for backup, the hunting party that had come with him in search of Jessica. Mr. Collins kept shooting the beast as he ran towards his jeep but the beast was too powerful to be overcome with bullets alone. All the backup he had rushed in and shot at the beast but nothing happened to it. The beast chased them all out of the woods and returned to its purpose.

The hunting party announced to withdraw and they all told Mr. Collins to give up on the thought that Jessica would be alive, it broke his heart but then as a loving father he never wanted to give up.
