Father Mendez read all that Jessica had read from the diary, all about James, about Katina and about the monk Antonio Diz. It was clear to him that trust, love and respect was twisted by works of evil into hate, betrayal and defeat.
James who was madly in love with Katina and wanted approval from his mentor monk Antonio Diz to marry her went crazy when the monk refused to bless their wedding and when James asked him why was he refusing to bless the marriage the monk told him to bring her to the chaple to make everything clear.
James kept thinking what could be the reason, when he went and told Katina everything that the monk and told him, she rufused to go to the chaple with him saying that if the monk was not ready to respect her, why should she do anything that he was asking her to do. Finally she put a choice infront of James that if he wants to marry her then there was one other ritual that could help them. Initially James refused as his faith was firm in what the monk had taught him but then she managed to convince him by saying that, "lets get married, after that the monk would have no option but to bless our marriage."
She had convinced James to get married by a strange ritual and for this she invited a man named 'Naamak' into their house one day. This man was very strange right from the way he was dressed to what he spoke, he intoduced himself as a worshiper of a new religon that had no name and a religon that accepts you the way you are. He told him that there was no law to obey and all he had to do was to accept it by making a blood bond.
James was again very uncomfortable listning to all that this man proposed and as the man left he told Katina that he would not do any such thing and that he would try convincing the monk to bless their marriage. Katina however did not give up and she used lust and her beauty to convince James to go with her to meet Naamak and end all their problems. She took him deep into the woods and after a while they reached a place where he saw Naamak dressed in a red robe standing in midts of a circle which was made by carcass of many doves, James was very scared looking at all these strange things but then Katina held his hand and told him that there was nothing to be afraid off, they made him step into the circle and continued to enchant. Then Katina took a knife and cut James' finger a bit to suck the blood that gushed out, then the same thing was done by Naamak and with this blood bond he said they had become husband and wife. He asked them to return exactly in 10 days to seal their marriage with the final blessing.
