Chapter 7 Tribute Parade

Recap~ What could possibly go wrong??

I didn't think anything could go wrong. I'm mean c'mon I'm looking beautiful, people are cheering and... Cherish signals for us to hold hands!! I can't! I won't! I mean I catch him staring at me all the time, it's well creepy!
"Cherish wants us to hold hands..." I whisper to Zachary. He immediately squeezes my hand and raises our entwined hands above our heads, smiling and blowing kisses to the crowd. I copy him as best as I can, putting on my most dazzling smile and wave to the many circus fre... Capitol residents. Some blow kisses and cry my name, while some throw flowers at our chariot. I manage to catch one flower and it's the most amazing blue-green colour! ( a/n see pic above! ) I attach it to my hair, gaining even more screams of joy from the Capitol residents.

As our chariot approaches President Snow I see him staring at me so I put my middle finger up at him and make a startled face. He smirks and looks behind us towards the outer districts tributes. I swear I heard someone say fire! I think to myself, why would they keep the parade going if there's a bloddy fire??! I mean they have to keep their flippin tributes safe don't they? I mean we're going into bloddy death game in 2 weeks! I think to myself.
As I look behind I see Districts 12 tributes chariot... ON FIRE??!
I can't help but laugh and point at them, and in no time everyone is laughing at them! They both go bright red like the flames surrounding them, I look over and see their prep team nearly in tears! But Haymitch, their mentor is smiling... Maybe it's their strategy to seem stupid and weak! I hope they have fireproof clothes on otherwise that's gonna burn tomorrow! I mean their stylist is either really clever or just plain bonkers! Even so, it's worth it. I mean just look at the entrance they made!

After listening to the Presidential welcome we go over to where our prep team are standing, I am sure I'm going to get told off by them but instead I get smothered by everyone saying how that was amazing! I smile at them and turn to look at the other tributes, obviously I'll need allies, and District 4 are technically part of the Career Pack. It's just wether I'm good enough to join and if I can trust them when we're in the arena. Just as I'm about to turn around I see this amazingly muscular, blonde from District 2. I think his name is Eric...? Normally I wouldn't be attracted to boys like that but I mean c'mon he's SOOO HANDSOME! He catches me staring and gestures to him and his chariot as if to say Can you believe this? I smirk and he winks at me before turning back to his District partner.

We all get into an elevator and Finnick presses the number 4. The doors swiftly close and in no time we arrive in our apartment. I thank everyone then make my way to my room, making sure to lock the door behind me! I change into some comfy tracksuit bottoms and a simple vest top, clear the makeup off me and climb into bed. But for some reason that boy from 2 stays in my mind. I recognise him from somewhere...
