This ain't a fairytale.
Halos lahat tayo familiar sa line na 'to ng song ni Taylor Swift White Horse, right? And this song itself is what inspired me to write this story of Maia, Rafael and Edward.
We all know that life is not always how we expect or wish it to be. Hindi lahat ng nag-start ng masaya ay nagtatapos sa happy ending at hindi rin naman lahat ng nagsimula sa malungkot, magtatapos din sa malungkot.
But life is full of surprises -- and that's the only thread of hope that we should hold onto.
Hindi man maging mala-fairytale ang buhay natin, remember that our life can be as fantastic and exciting in its own simple and realistic way. Sabi nga ulit sa other song ni Taylor: THIS LIFE IS SWEETER THAN FICTION.
Therefore, We're Just Friends, Right? is a story that depicts not a fairytale love story but a real one. Needless to say, this novel is based on a REAL LOVE STORY with real characters, real feelings and real situations and reactions.
So, I dedicate this story which I wrote myself to those who are looking for stories na hindi mala-prinsesa ang bida na nagustuhan ng mala-prinsipeng lalaki (mayaman, gwapo at perfect) kundi para ito sa mga readers na naghahanap ng kwentong magre-reflect ng buhay ng simple at totoong kabataan sa panahon ngayon.
This story is about a girl who falls in-love with the two most special boys of her life and whether she will be able to keep her heart honest and intact against the crashing waves of secret desires.
As you read through it, maaaring meron sa inyong ma-bore or mainis sa mga characters at mag-decide na tumigil na sa pagbabasa half-way pa lang. It's completely allright and I honestly understand it.
Again, ang kwentong ito ay hindi gaya ng love story ni Cinderella o ni Laida o ni Mikay. However, to those who'd feel that they want to finish reading this until the last page, THANK YOU!
