Ertha's POV
Hidan had left an hour ago. Regan was in her room mumbling some voodoo or something. It was seriously freaky. I had gone to check on her since I thought they were friends, yet she was missing in action.
I had peeked the door and she was mumbling angrily at nothing. What sucked is that I couldn't make out anything that she was saying. Eventually I have up and moved on back to my room with a bag of popped popcorn.
Now, all that was left to do was open the gifts from Itachi and Sasuke. It was nerve-wracking. And worse, I made everything 100x worse than it really is. I decided to open Sasuke's first.
It was a cream colored bag with Sasuke's scraggly writing on it saying, 'Happy Birthday!!' His attempt at pretty letters definitely made me laugh. I pulled out the neatly folded tissue paper and inside were three things, a small teddy bear with a cute little red ribbon on it's ear, a card, and a tiny box.
The box was red like the ribbon on the bears head with a black ribbon holding it closed. I slowly pulled the bow letting it fall exposing the full box. For some reason, my hands were shaking. The box held inside, a sterling silver chain bracelet with a crest that was red on top and white on the bottom.
Now was the note. It read:
Dear Ertha,
Today is your birthday! I'm pretty happy for you! Thanks to you, my English grade is the best and even the nerds in the class are shocked!! xD
Anyways.. The bracelet, the crest is a symbol that's run down the Uchiha family for a long time. It's just a little something to remember me by ^.~
Now for the bear, well I saw it at the mall and thought it would suit you. You're a very cutesy person. But I'm sure you knew that. ^^'
Happy Birthday!
SasukeI smiles at Sasuke's thoughtfulness. I was a bit cutesy. Not in a bad way in my opinion, but it was definitely there. In the way I acted over the way I dressed honestly.
In America people thought I was emo from the goth way I typically dressed. Though at one point, I can't say they were wrong.
Back to the point! I'm a cutesy person that loves the teddy bear that Sasuke gave her!
Now my stomach clenched and throbbed nervously.
The bag was a light gray. I remembered telling Itachi I loved the color gray. It was a mixture of light and dark. Like all people. I has told him everyone was a different shade of gray and that that were always changing shades, but no one was ever all white or all black. Always gray.
I carefully took out the tissue paper, and laid it down on my bed. Inside was a velvet box and a cat ear headband. The headband was black and soft. It had white fuzz showing which showed which side was the front. It made me laugh, and placed them on top if my head.
I took the small velvet box, half hoping it was empty so I wouldn't get attached to this crush. Yet, when I opened it, it contained two things. Earrings that had a silver piercing top with slightly bigger purple stones dangling from them.
Secondly, a folded note that was slightly heavy. I started to unfold the note, and something cold fell out of the note and onto my lap. It was a metal necklace with three circles. Exactly like the one he wore.
Dear Ertha,
Hey! Happy Birthday! I hope the day is as magical for you as you make the time we spend together. This is an exact copy of the necklace I have. They're from my parents. They gave them to me and said to give the other one to someone who makes me happy. I thought, who better than you... So now we match! Hope you like the gifts!
See you tomorrow!
ItachiIt wasn't as long as Sasuke's but held the same meaning. My eyes were watering by now and I felt so happy and grateful for them.
My phone buzzed. It was Gaara.
From: Gaara-Nii
Itachi told me about the party! Sorry I couldn't make it... But I have your present. Happy birthday!
-End-
I have the best friends ever. I looked at the mirror and saw my makeup was running from happy tears. Also, I noticed the wrapped present on my dresser. I knew it was from Regan, but I wasn't expecting one since she did so much for my birthday already.
Carefully, I unwrapped it and inside was a Cat plus hie with at least five pieces of Skillet merchandise. A t-shirt, drum sticks, two black rubber bracelets, and a poster. Skillet was our favorite band. They're American and we've been huge fans since we met. It was the first thing we bonded over.
I was bawling now. I couldn't have had better friends.
