Best Friend?

Chapter 6

Today is my first day in Boyne City. I'm so excited. Apparently we're going to Climb the Sleeping Bear Dunes today. Yay! I'm so excited. Bella told me they weren't fun but, I bet she was just trying to scare me.

"C'mon guys! Let's go!" Dad yelled. We all hopped in the car and we were off to sleeping bear dunes. "Lucy?" I asked. "Hun, you can call me, mom. If you want." She smiled. "Okay, mom, can we stop at Becky's Flamingo Freeze? It's so good!" I replied. "Sure thing." She smiled and we stopped at Becky's. I got vanilla. Dylan and Andrew are sharing a chocolate shake. He's the cutest big brother ever.

"Can we go to a movie tomorrow?" I asked everyone. They all nodded. "But, which one?" Dad asked me. "There is this one I've been wanting to see it's called Paper Towns but, Bella and I are going to see It together. So The Chosen." I told them and Dylan got the biggest grin on his face. "You only want to see The Chosen because of Kian Lawley. You're scared of scary movies." He chanted. "Am not." I crossed my arms. "Are too." He stuck his tongue out at me.

"I can't go any further." Andrew whined. "Here. I'll carry you." I sighed, picking him up. He's pretty light for a 4 year old. "You're pretty light." I told him. "I'm going to be 5 in 2 months." He held up 5 fingers. He is the cutest thing ever. "I'm going to be 16 in 2 days." I told him and he tried to count 16 on his fingers. "You don't have enough fingers." I whisoered to him.

"I CAN SEE IT!" Andrew yelled. "See what?" I asked him. "The water." He screamed. I quickly started running. "Last one to the water is a rotten belly button fuzz!" Andrew screamed. "A rotten belly button fuzz?" I asked him as we made it to the water first. "Yes." He smiled.

After us was Mom, then Dylan, then Bella, then Bella's brother, Braiden, then Dad, and then Uncle Ian. "Uncle Ian is a Rotten Belly Button Fuzz!" Andrew yelled from the water. I was sitting on the beach with Bella and I felt two strong arms wrap around me. I looked to see Braiden. Dylan had his arms around Bella.

"Braiden! Put me down!" I yelled. A rush of cold water was on my body. I was still in Braiden's arms. This kid. I could feel myself leaning in. This kiss lasted about 15 seconds. I looked over my shoulder and Bella was kissing Dylan. "Get some Dylan!" I screamed and they broke apart.

We continued to swim in the lake. Braiden looks a lot like Matt. Oh shit. Matt. I'm still dating him. He won't like this. I'll just tell him when I go home. I'm not going home. I have to end it with him. I'm going to be in a WHOLE different state than him.

"Lise!" I turned around. Braiden. "Yes, B?" I asked him. "Will you walk back with me?" He gave me puppy dog eyes. "Sure but, don't try anything. I haven't broken up with Matt yet." I sighed and He nodded. "Wait, why'd you kiss me?" He asked. "I-I don't know." I stuttered. "You couldn't resist me." He smirked and I cracked up.

I needed to call Matt. He answered right away. "We need to break up." He started. "That's exactly what I was going to say." I said, astonished. "What?" He asked me. "I'm staying in Detroit." I sighed. "I'm sorry but, I kissed Kalyn." He sniffled. "I kissed Braiden too." I sighed. "YOU WHAT?" He flipped. "You kissed Kaye! You don't see me flipping out. That was my fucking best friend too. You don't even fucking know Braiden and to think I LOVED you! Good Bye, Matthew." I hung up the phone.

"Knock. Knock." I turned to see Braiden. "Hey." I gave a slight wave. "I heard what you said." He sighed. "Well, apparently Matthew is a douche." I spat and He nodded. He Sat down next to me. "I really like you, Lise." He told me. "I like you too." I said and my phone buzzed.
