Best Friend?

Chapter 17

- Hayes -

I've been feeling strange lately. I've been seeing Lise, as more than a friend. She's only a friend. I've got Sadie and she's got Grayson. The thing is, every time I kiss Sadie, I picture Lise. Which isn't good. Taylor will kill me if I hurt his little sister. I don't want to die anytime soon.

I walked into class and took a seat next to Barbara. "Hey B." I said. Barbara is my best friend besides, Lise. "Hi Hayes." She almost sounded scared. "B, what's wrong?" I asked her. "N-nothing." She stuttered. This isn't nothing. B doesn't stutter. "What's up? You can tell me anything." I told her. "You can't let me be caught talking to you. She will hurt me." She said. "Who?" I asked. "Sadie." She wimpered and turned in her seat.

I watched Sadie walk in. "Hey Babe." She laughed. "Hi." I sighed. Why does she have to be so crazy? She told B, if she talked to me, she'd hurt her. CRAZY. Sadie started lauging at John. All of a sudden, Sadie kissed John. John, one of my friends. SADIE kissed John. "SADIE!" I yelled. "Hayes, I'm sorry." She called after me but, I kept walking.

I ran all the way home. Nash is sick. I walked in the house. "Hayes, why are you here?" Nila asked me. "She broke me, Nila." I started crying. I've been hurt twice. "Sadie. I never liked that girl." She tried to comfort me. "Sadie Caniff?" Nash asked, coughing. "Yeah. Why?" I asked him, sniffling. "She was kissing Carter. A lot. Carter pushed her off. She said they were dating." He told me. I ran into my room. I need Lise and I need her now.

I walked back downstairs. "Nila, can I move to Omaha?" I asked her. "Honey, I already scheduled your flight. Lauren said it was okay if you stayed with them. They have a full house anyways." She smiled, handing me a plane ticket. "Full house?" I asked her. "Grayson and Ethan are there too. Plus, the dark haired one never leaves the blond's side." She laughed. "You mean Jack G never leaves Jack J's side." I corrected her and started packing.

I fit my clothes into 3 suitcases. Not much I guess. I walked downstairs. Dad was at work and Skylynn was at her friend's house. I hopped in the car. Nila drove me to the airport. "I love you, Hayes." She said, hugging me. "I love you too." I smiled. I walked in the airport. I sat down and waited.

"Flight 765 to Omaha, Nebraska. Boarding first class." I ran to the gate. I walked down the aisle and sat in my seat. I can't believe just a few hours ago, my girlfriend cheated on me and now I'm moving in with my best friend.

"I walked into the house an-" I read. "Don't read anymore. I'm scared." Zoey, the girl I was babysitting, said. Zoey is Lexie's daughter. Lexie was raped at age 13. Her mom helped her take care of her. Lexie then, became a lesbian and her parents disowned her. She lives in her own with her girlfriend, Taylor. Taylor usually gets home before Lexie.

"Zoey! I'm home." I heard Taylor yell. I walked downstairs. Zoey decided to run. "Hi, Lise. Thanks for taking car of her." Taylor said. "No problem." I smiled. I walked outside and got in my car. I drove home belting out to JJ's new song Wrong One.

I walked inside and noticed an all to familiar face sitting in our living room. "Madison?" I asked. "Anna, before you get angry. I've changed. I didn't do that to Hayes on purpose. It was for my life. I couldn't risk my life. I'm not lying. I swear. I'd never hurt anyone." She said. "I believe you." I smiled. "I understand if you don't want me- WAIT, you believe me?" She screamed. "Of course I do. I always though you hated me though." I sighed. "Nope. Never." She laughed.

"Madison! You can stay in my room." I yelled. "Okay. I will. You have room?" She asked. "Yes of course." I told her. I heard a knock at the door. "I'll get it." I said, walking over to the door. I opened it to see Hayes. "Hayes!" I yelled. "What are you doing here?" I asked him. "Uhhh....Can I come in?" He asked. "In a sec." I screamed and slammed the door.

"Madi, Hayes is here." I told her. "I'll hide in your room." She yelled, running into my room. I walked back over to the door and opened it. Hayes walked in. "Now, tell me what you're doing here." I demanded. "Okay. Sadie cheated on me and Nila said I could move here and Lauren said it was okay." He sighed. "Sadie, cheated on you?" Jackie asked and Hayes nodded.

"Hayes, if you're going to be living here, there's someone you need to know is living here." Jackie said, with his phone in hand. Madi walked out of my room. "Ah! It's her." Hayes screamed. "Hayes, wait. Let her talk." I told him and he calmed down. "Hayes, I'd never hurt a soul. It was for the risk of my life. I was to tell no one until we broke up. Some girl did it to me. Her name is Acacia. Do you know her?" Madison told everything. "Acacia?" I asked. "Hayes, Acacia was your first crush and then she tried to kill me so, she went to jail. Well kid jail. She probably wants to kill anyone who likes you or is dating you Hayes. She has them risk your life so she can have you to yourself." I sighed. My phone buzzed.

??: Nice work. You figured out my master plan

Anna: Acacia, why are you doing this?

Acacia: Because, Hayes is mine. I'm just glad to see He didn't end up with you

Anna: What's that supposed to mean?

She never answered. I got the shivers. How did she know what I was saying? This shit is scary. "H-Hayes." I stuttered, showing him the text messages from Acacia. "How'd she hear you?" Jackie asked. My phone buzzed again.

Acacia: I can hear all of you

"Why are you doing this?" Hayes asked.

Acacia: I WANT YOU ALL TO MYSELF

"Acacia, I don't like you anymore. We're done. For good." Hayes said.

Acacia: I'll leave. This isn't over Hayes Boo

"That's scary as fuck." Jackie said. "No kidding. That's why I'm sleeping with JJ." I said, jumping on JJ. "I'm sleeping with my Jackie." Madison sighed. "I'm sleeping with Grayson." Hayes said. We all laughed. "BROMANCE!" JJ yelled. We stayed up talking for a little bit. Let's just say they stayed up talking for a bit.
