"I don't see why I had to wear this," my dad grumbled, fidgeting with his Harper jersey.

I rolled my eyes and hit his shoulder. "You know he means a lot to me, dad."

"Whatever. Three years is nothing. You know mom and I-"

"Have been together for over thirty years blah, blah, blah I know. I've heard it all before."

He sighed and wrapped a strong arm around my shoulder.

"You know I'm just messing with ya, right Pols? I love that guy, no matter how weird his haircuts are," he said, patting my shoulder with every word.

I chuckled quietly. "I know, dad."

The game went smooth, thank goodness. Bryce was catching pop flies and getting base hits with ease.

When it was time for the seventh inning stretch. Bryce got up from the dugout and sprinted to the box. I watched in confusion as he bounded up the stairs and disappeared into the glass room.

"We have a special guest here to sing Take Me Out To The Ball Game. Bryce Harper, everyone!" The announcer yelled as the crowd went wild.

"Hey guys! Sing this loud for me!" Bryce yelled through the microphone. I could tell he was smiling just by the way he was talking. He was up to something.

After the song, the crowd went quiet and waited for Bryce to talk.

"Three years, Polly. We've been together for three years and it's time to do this. Don't worry, your dad gave me permission, so here I am. In front of all of Washington D.C. Putting myself on the line. Will you marry me?"

I looked over at my dad who was smirking. I turned back to the video board only to see my own face staring back.

"Say yes, say yes, say yes!" The crowd started chanting.

After a few seconds of being frozen with shock, Bryce appeared in front of me and pulled me out of my daze.

"What do you say, babe?" He asked, out of breath.

"Yes! Yes I want to marry you!"

I wrapped my arms around him and squeezed him as tight as I could, laughing at the wild cheers from the crowd.
