Next Saturday
Mari's POV
I grabbed my phone and plugged it into our speaker system. Matt came out a few minutes later with chips and salsa.
"When was the last time we saw Lexi and the family" Matt asked. I thought about it. "I think it was two months ago. You know she doesn't have to come over every day. She does have a family and a job". "I know. I just miss her running around the halls". I did too.
5 seconds later, someone knocked on the door. I walked over and looked through the peephole. 34 years after what happened with Peter, I'm still checking to see whose at my door. I saw some familiar faces and opened the door.
"Grandma"! I opened my arms for Wes and Ciara to come into. I laughed and wrapped my arms around them. Matt came up behind me and hugged Lexi.
"Daddy. I live half an hour away. Not in New York". "Yeah, but my baby doesn't visit as often as she used to". "I do have a family. And Smosh Games to run. I can't visit as often as you'd like". He put his head down. "I know". Lexi giggled and hugged him tighter.
After she was done hugging Matt, she came over and gave me a hug. "Hi Mom". "Hi sweetie. How's the channel doing". "Just fine. The fans want a Smosh Games reunion video. Soon". I nodded. "I'll text the guys and get the crew back together".
Wes and Ciara had already gone and sat on the couch, Wes looking more and more like his mom and Ciara looking more and more like Drew.
"Why don't you kids go into your mom's old room. I believe the consoles are still in there". They got up and ran down the hall. "No running" Lexi called. I shook my head. Just like when she was their age.Ciara's POV
I raced Wes down the hall, only to be yelled at by Mom. And he ended up beating me. Which means he'll get the good controller.
I walked into the yellow room, Smosh pillows littering the room and the bed. I turned the Xbox on and plopped down onto the bed, giving Wes the wall. I normally got the wall spot, but after what happened on our last family game night, I wanted to be a little nicer.
Wes climbed over to the wall and handed me a controller. The good controller.
"I thought you were going to use it" I said, a little confused. "We can compromise. When I get the wall you get the good controller. And vice versa. Ok". I nodded and gave him a hug. He hugged me back.
After an hour, there was a knock on the door. I paused the game and walked over to the door. It was Mom.
"Hi Mom. How can we be of service". She laughed and walked into the room.
"Ahh memories. I passed out and couldn't wake up for three months in that bed. I fell asleep multiple times in that closet". She walked over to the spacious closet and opened the door. "It's a lot smaller than I remember. You kids ready to go". "Yeah" Wes said, getting up to turn off the Xbox.
"Alright kids. Let's get going" Mom said while putting an arm around each of our shoulders.
"Alright Mom. You ready to go". She nodded and grabbed her bag while Grandpa grabbed their phones.
"Are we going to see the gang today" I asked, super duper curious. Grandma nodded. I jumped up and down. That meant I would get to see Joven again. He gets a lot of hate, but he's my favorite. Wes is Wes's favorite. For obvious reasons. We got into the car and headed to the office. The one place we can be ourselves.
