Lexi's POV
"Wes! Ciara! Game time" I called to my 12 year olds.
A few seconds later, I heard rumbling down the stairs, a common thing on game night.
Ciara hopped over the back of the couch in order to beat her brother to get the good spot on the couch.
"Mom. She always get the good spot. Why can't I get it for once" Wes complained.
"You should be a little faster then" Ciara said. I laughed.
"Come on Ciara. Give your brother a chance" Drew asked walking into our living room. It sucks having to move out of the apartment we lived in, but we needed more space. And we needed to get away from my parents.
My stubborn little girl moved over so her brother could sit were she was sitting. I wrapped an arm around her shoulders, trying not to pull on her bright red hair. "You'll get it next time sweetheart". "Fine".
I handed each of us a controller for our Wii. The old one we had back when I was a kid.
We put Mario Kart in and played for two hours. Then, 10 o'clock rolled around. "Alright guys. Time for bed". "Aww come on. Five more minutes" They both complained at the same time.
I shook my head. "You have school tomorrow. You can stay up late Friday night". They groaned and walked upstairs to their rooms.
"I never thought having kids would be so hard. I was always a joy when I was growing up".
"The hardest part is coming. Remember Kara. Her daughter just turned 13".
"Was that this week". He nodded. "Wow. I can't believe the little toddler that we would babysit is 13".
Drew wrapped an arm around me. "At least their angels now.
Ciara's POV
I climbed the ladder up to my bed. I then yelled across the hall.
"Night bro". I received no answer. I don't understand why he hates me.
My door opened and Mom walked in. "Night sweetheart". "Night Mom". She kissed my forehead and walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.
As soon as the door was shut, I scrambled down the ladder and grabbed my phone and earbuds. I slipped under the blankets and clicked on the YouTube app.
After watching videos for another hour, I started to feel drowsy. I climbed down the ladder again, plugged my phone in and climbed back up. My eyes shut as soon as my head hit the pillow.
