ANIRUDH
Today was the best fucking day. My butterfly was wrapped in a beautiful purple saree, sitting beside me with that big, shy smile on her face.
Fuck that shyness of hers.
I wanted her now. Today.
I was asking for her hand—no, fuck that—I was claiming her as mine again, even though she had always been mine. But this time, I wanted it done the right way. The first time… well, I kind of kidnapped her. But now? Now, I wanted the world to witness it. I wanted my Bondita to become my wife in front of everyone, with love, with blessings, with all the traditions she deserved.
Her Thakumaa, Sumati Maa, Naina, and Tupur were here. Even Kabir was present—I had called him too. Whatever had happened between us, today wasn’t the day for grudges. It was the day I gave Bondita everything she deserved.
And fuck waiting. I had already arranged for the priest, Pandit ji. Because patience? I had none left.
I was marrying my wife. Fast.
The entire house was buzzing with excitement. My Kaka, Sampoorna Maa, Batuk, and Som were all gathered in the hall, along with Bondita’s family. Everyone was here, except for the one person I didn’t care to include in my happiness—Mishti. She was somewhere around, but I didn’t give a fuck. This moment was about Bondita and me.
I leaned back, looking at everyone. “I want to marry Bondita again,” I declared, my voice steady. “In front of everyone. Before Batuk and Mishti’s wedding.”
For a second, there was silence. Then—
Sampoorna Maa gasped, her hands flying to her mouth. “Oh, Anirudh! This is wonderful news!”
Som smirked. “Bhaiya, couldn’t even wait for Batuk's wedding, huh? So impatient!” He wiggled his eyebrows. “Or is it because you can’t keep your hands off Bhabhi?”
I shot him a glare, but Bondita’s face turned bright red, making me chuckle.
Kaka nodded, his expression serious but pleased. “This is the right thing to do. Bondita should be given all the respect and honor of a proper wedding.”
Bondita’s Thakumaa dramatically sighed. “Finally, Anirudh has some sense! If he hadn’t said it, I would have forced him myself.”
Laughter filled the room, and soon, wedding dates were being discussed. Sampoorna Maa and Sumati Maa started talking about auspicious days, while Batuk and Som were already planning the celebrations. Plates of sweets were passed around, congratulations were exchanged, and the house felt warmer than ever.
I looked beside me—Bondita was sitting quietly, her cheeks pink, her eyes glistening with happiness. My little butterfly. My wife.
I reached for her hand under the table, giving it a squeeze. She looked at me, her lips parting slightly in surprise.
This time, I would make sure the whole world knew she was mine.
Pandit Ji sat in the middle of the hall, flipping through his old, worn-out calendar while everyone watched with anticipation. The entire family was eager to hear the dates, but no one was as impatient as me. I just wanted to marry my Bondita—fast.
After a moment, Pandit Ji adjusted his glasses and looked up. “There are two auspicious dates coming up. One is after a week,” he said, making my heart race in excitement. “And the next is after three months.”
Before anyone could even react, Bondita and I spoke at the same time—
“After one week.”
A moment of silence passed, then the entire room erupted in laughter.
