The entire hall fell into stunned silence. Eyes widened in shock as Batuk suddenly grasped Mishti’s hand and declared, "I love Mishti... Kaka, I want to marry her. Only her!"
Anirudh and Bondita stood frozen, their expressions reflecting pure disbelief. Trilochan, who had been seated on the sofa, abruptly rose, his gaze sharp and unreadable. Sampoorna, standing nearby, looked between them, confusion etched across her face.
Batuk's grip on Mishti tightened as he scanned the room, his voice growing louder, more desperate. "Why is everyone silent? Didn't you hear me? I want to marry Mishti! I love her!" Mishti lowered her gaze, her fingers clutching his hand even tighter—an unspoken acknowledgment of the storm they had just unleashed.
Trilochan’s sharp gaze fixed on Batuk, his expression darkening with disbelief. His brows furrowed, and his lips pressed into a tight line as he processed the words that had just shattered the room’s silence.
After a long, tense pause, he finally spoke, his voice laced with shock and disapproval. "She is older than you, Batuk. Seven years older!" His tone carried both disbelief and authority, as if hoping to shake sense into his nephew.
Batuk, however, didn’t flinch. His jaw clenched, and his grip on Mishti’s hand remained firm, a silent declaration that he wasn’t backing down—no matter what. "Kaka age doesn't matter I love her and I'll marry her only that's it.
Trilochan’s fingers curled into fists at Batuk’s stubbornness, his jaw tightening as he took a sharp breath. “Age doesn’t matter?” he repeated, his voice laced with frustration. “It does batuk!"
Batuk’s eyes burned with determination as he took a step forward. “I understand it better than you think, Kaka. Love isn’t about age—it’s about the person! And Mishti is the one I want, the one I choose.”
Mishti’s grip on his hand tightened, but she kept her eyes down, afraid to meet the storm brewing in Trilochan’s gaze. The weight of the moment pressed heavily upon her, but she knew—Batuk wasn’t going to back down.
Bondita and Anirudh exchanged a glance, still too stunned to react. The tension in the room was suffocating, and they all knew—this was only the beginning of a battle no one had been prepared for.
Anirudh, who had remained silent until now, finally stepped forward. His sharp eyes flickered between Batuk and Mishti before settling on her. His voice was calm yet firm as he asked, “Mishti, do you love Batuk?”
A heavy silence followed, all eyes turning to her. Mishti hesitated for a moment before slowly nodding. “Yes, I do.” Her voice was soft, but the words echoed powerfully in the tense atmosphere.
Bondita, however, couldn’t shake the unease creeping up her spine. Her fingers curled into her saree as a deep frown formed on her face. "Something is wrong… I’m having a very bad feeling about this," she thought, her heart pounding with an unfamiliar fear.
Anirudh exhaled, turning to Trilochan with unwavering resolve. “Kaka, if they love each other, then they should marry. You can’t stop them.” His voice carried finality, as if daring anyone to argue.
Trilochan’s face hardened, his gaze burning with disapproval, but Anirudh’s words had been spoken—there was no taking them back now.
As soon as Trilochan stormed out, Batuk turned to Anirudh with a mix of relief and gratitude in his eyes. Without hesitation, he threw his arms around his elder brother, hugging him tightly. “Thank you, Dada! You don’t know how much this means to me,” he said, his voice filled with emotion.
