I was still thinking of contacting Asher and telling him that I was unable to go. Thinking of some excuse as to why I can't go. I remembered that he used to always be able to see if I was lying, one of the only people who were able to do that actually. So I decided to suck it up, and meet him to talk. What could be so important, that he has to talk to me now, and that he came all the way back to Fort Myers? apparently to protect everyone I love and me? The least I could do is let him explain himself, but this is Matt, there has to be some catch to this. If I even feel the slightest hint of a catch in there, I am gone. He's lied to me to many times, and left me in the dust 1 too many times. I am not saying we go back to friends, but it doesn't mean I have to trust him fully.
I drove out to the "Spot ". The "Spot" is a place to where I would go to just clear my thoughts. Asher is the only one who knows of this because when we were together 4 years ago, I felt like I could trust him with my life. So I trusted him with the spot I feel safest at. Now that I look back I regret telling him about it.
I was walking up the beach to the "Spot" when I already saw Asher on the rock. He apparently heard me coming because he turned his head twords me and smiled., "I bought us some coffees. Here is your snicker doodle cappuccino, extra espresso and whip cream." I stared at him in shock.
He looked back at me confused,"What? Do you not like coffee anymore or did I get your order wrong?" I shook my head, still speechless
"Then what is it?"
"I am just surprised that you remember exactly what coffee I get and you remember exactly what rock I sit on."
He smiled and laughed while he handed me my coffee and I gratefully took a big and delicious sip.
We both sat on my special rock and looked out onto the ocean.
"Okay, let's not waist any time here. You wanted me to explain and I am going to, so here it goes....You aren't who you think you are. There are some things you should know about your past. Now just please dont get upset at me. Can you promise me that you will let me finish before you freak out?"
"Yes I promise."
He took a deep breath in and looked straight into my eyes,"Asy, your adopted."
