I was groggy waking up after sleeping for such a long time. Last night was fun from what I remember, but not from what Luke told me. I felt on edge knowing Daniel could have gotten away with what he tried to do. But thankfully for Luke, he didn't. "Erin!" I heard Cate yelling my name and she swung my bedroom door open, stumbling in.
"Hi Cate," I mumbled into my pillow, I still wasn't fully awake and I wanted to continue sleeping, but I knew Cate wouldn't let me do that.
"What are you doing today?" Cate asked, sitting at my desk, spinning around in my desk chair. Before I had the chance to answer, she spoke up. "What's this?" She held up Caroline and I's bucket list and I was way too tired to jump out of bed and grab it out of her hands. "You and Caroline made a summer bucket list?"
"Yeah," I sighed, finally gaining the energy to sit up in my bed and wake up completely. "So what brings you here?"
"I was wondering if you wanted to go to lunch with me. Kevin is hanging out with Calum and whatever else those guys names are. I'm not sure why he's hanging out with them, considering they're like five years younger than him, but whatever."
"Uh sure, let me get ready and I'll meet you outside in thirty minutes."
"Perfect!" Cate got up happily and skipped out of my room. Cate and Caroline are like my sisters I've never had. I'm just as close with Cate as I am with Kevin. It's nice that we get along so well because I know for a fact she will end up marrying my brother.
I got myself out of my bed and unlocked my phone to play some music as I got ready. I settled on the 1975's song Sex. I sang along as I walked to my closet to find an outfit to wear. After what seemed like forever I finally settled on a pair of high wasted light blue shorts and a navy blue and light blue striped shirt. I slid on my black Vans and looked at myself in the mirror deciding that I looked okay enough to go out to lunch. I grabbed my purse and phone, pausing my music, before turning my bedroom light off and walking downstairs. My parents were nowhere to be found and I assumed they were fighting again but I tried to not let it bother me.
I left my house and sat Cate standing standing against her Range Rover that her parents got her for her twenty-first birthday. To say I was jealous would be an understatement. "You ready?" She yelled to me. I nodded my head and walked to her car, slipping into the passenger seat. I didn't question where we were going for lunch because she always knows the best places. We pulled into the parking lot of B Spot and I could smell the deliciousness from the car. We got out of her car and she locked the doors behind us.
"Hello!" The hostess greeted us. "How many people will be dining today? Just you two?"
Cate nodded her head and we followed the hostess to a seat outside. It wasn't God awfully hot today which I was more than thankful for. "Your server will be with you in a moment." The hostess smiled at us before leaving us alone to look at the menu. I've been here a few times with Caroline and we get something different every time, so I was going to continue that tradition. "I haven't been here in forever," I thought out loud.
"Neither have I. The last time I was were was with you and Caroline," I nodded in agreement, since it's true, and smiled sadly. "Damn I miss her crazy ass."
"Me too. More and more every single day," I hated admitting that, but this was Cate, I can tell her anything. "Remember the one time we came here and Caroline talked in a posh British accent and basically seduced our waiter?"
"Yes!" Cate laughed loudly. "She got him to serve us drinks even though you guys were only seventeen! I wonder how he's doing."
"Hello ladies," a nice looking guy smiled at us, pulling his notepad out his the pocket in his apron. "I'm Chad and I'll be your serve today. What can I get you to drink?"
