The music playing in my ears came to a quick stop and was replaced by the ring tone of my cellphone. I stopped running and looked down at my glowing screen only to see a number I was unable to recognize. I hesitated for a moment unsure if I wanted to answer or let my voicemail pick up.

"Hello?"

Hey I'm sorry. I wasn't sure who else to call.

"Rob?" I was beyond confused by the sound of the voice on the other end and took a seat on the nearest bench.

I have a Mia problem and if I call Sheila she will kill me.

"What's wrong with Mia? Is she okay?" My confusion quickly turned to concern as I waited for an answer.

She's fine. We just have a bit of an issue. Can you come by? Wait, are you busy? You're probably busy, I'm sorry.

"I'm not busy." I felt the smile on my face grow at his rambling, "I was just running down at the water front."

I'll text you my address. Thanks Ava, you're a life saver.

"Don't thank me yet, I don't even know if I can help." I laughed, standing from my place on the bench and beginning to walk back towards my car.

You're Miss Snow, from what I've heard about you, I'm almost positive you're a super hero.

"I'll see you soon." I ended the call and resumed running to my car. Rob's words were sweet and unexpected and the butterflies I felt in my stomach for that brief moment were almost hard to ignore.

I arrived at my car and checked my phone to see a text from Rob providing me with an address to his house. I quickly typed it into my navigation system and headed in the direction it led me. According to the GPS it would take me just under fifteen minutes to get to where I needed to go.

I couldn't help but to wonder what on earth could be wrong with Mia and why Rob felt he couldn't call Sheila. Sure, Sheila was very protective of Mia, what mother wouldn't be protective of her child? I just didn't understand why she appeared to be so hard on Rob, granted I don't know anything about the two of them or their history but he really seemed like he tried to he a good dad and Mia was always so happy to see him.

I pulled into the driveway of the large, gorgeous gray house that could've been plucked straight from my dreams. I was almost shocked that this was where Rob called home, from the outside it looked so domesticated and very much like a party free zone. I suppose the ever so popular, don't judge a book by it's cover, could work in this sort of scenario as well; just because it looked like a soccer mom's dream on the outside didn't mean it wasn't a bachelor's paradise on the inside.

I stepped out of my car and tried to straighten myself out, I had come directly from my morning run to Rob's and I knew I looked like a disheveled mess. My long blonde hair was swept up into a ponytail and I was clothed in my athletic gear, although most guys drooled at the thought of girls in spandex. I don't know why I care so much about impressing him.

I rang the doorbell and my eyes began to wander over his yard, I was almost searching for something out of place or something that would have alerted someone that the party boy of the century lived behind this very door. Surprisingly, everything seemed to be quite perfect and I could easily sit on this porch with a cup of coffee every morning, the view was beautiful.

"Hey!" Rob pulled open the door and I found myself searching for words. He was shirtless, his sweats hanging low on his hips and a backwards baseball hat on his head.

"Hi." I smiled at him wanting to squirm beneath his gaze. I immediately felt self conscious about my simple appearance, "I'm sorry, I was out for my run... I came right over when you called."
