- Tyler's POV -
- on the phone with Josh -
"Hey Josh! I was wondering if I can come over and we can start working on some music for our big show? I have an idea for a song. I already have a couple lyrics."
"Uh yeah sure! Since I have nothing to do today and we could use some more music. Dude this show is going to be sick! I can't wait." Josh said sounding excited.
"Want to come over now?" He continued.
"Yeah sure. Just let me shower really quick"
"Alright. See you in a few" and he hung up.
I take a quick shower and throw on black jeans and a plain gray shirt with my skeleton sweater. It's a little chilly and I seem to write better music when I wear that sweater. I have had it since our fist show.
I pull up into Josh's driveway and I can already hear him banging on the drums. I open the door and quickly go down to his basement.
"Oh hey Tyler! How long have you been standing there?"
"About 3 minutes. I was trying to get your attention but you were too focused" I said laughing a little bit.
"Right.. Sorry about that." Josh said with a chuckle.
"So you wanted to show me a new song you were working on?" He continued.
"Oh yeah. Well I have two songs.
The one song is called guns for hands. The one I showed you a few weeks ago. Would you want to play that one?" I asked Josh because I don't like making decisions without him. He is just as important.
"Yeah I really like that song, and I think the crowd would too." He said happily as he started to drum the beat of the song.
"And the other song I'm writing right now I think it's going to be called " Oh Ms. Believer. It goes so thing like this -Oh, Miss Believer, my pretty sleeper
Your twisted mind is like snow on the road
Your shaking shoulders prove that it's colder
Inside your head than the winter of deadI will tell you I love you
But the muffs on your ears will cater your fears
My nose and feet are running as we start
To travel through snow
Together we go -Thats all I have so far." I said quietly as I finished singing.
"I'm sorry there's like no drums in this song.." I said, feeling guilty.
"No no Tyler that's song is great so far! And don't worry about it, it's okay" Josh says rubbing my back trying to make me feel better.
"Tyler, you know I'm here for you. You can always talk to me.. If anything is ever bothering you." Josh said as he gave me a hug.
"I know. Thanks man. I'm really glad your my best friend. I wouldn't be here without you. I really hope this band gets big." I said cheering up a little more.
"It will. You have an amazing talent and I'd like to say I'm pretty sick on the drums. People will like us" Josh says chuckling.
"So what other songs do you think we should play?" I asked Josh.
"Well we are already know we are playing Guns For Hands, and possibly Oh Ms. believer. How about we play Screen? And maybe Trap Door? I like those songs. What songs do you want?"
Josh says making sure I have a choice in this.
" Okay we have -
Screen
Trap Door
How about Ode To sleep?
And Fall away?
Oo! And Kitchen sink,
Then Guns For Hands
And we can end with Oh Ms. Believer. -
Want to do that?"
"Sounds good! This it's going to be great." Josh says as he starts to play the drums. "Let's rehearse all of the songs, yeah?"
"Okay" I say. I love singing and playing music. It gives me so much hope and hopefully it helps other people as much as it helped me.- Ambers POV -
"Amber honey. Come down here. We need to talk" my mom yelled up the stairs.
"Amber!" -still no answer -
She walked up stairs in my room. I didn't hear her because I had headphones in.
"Amber sweety. We need to talk."
"Yeah? What's up mom?" I said quietly. By the sound of her voice im not sure if I'm going to like this.
"Well, my work. They are giving me a raise. And uh-" I cut her off
"Awe that's great mom! I'm so happy for you." I said happily.
"Well yeah, but in order for me to get the raise, I have to move to our new building.. In Chicago.. Honey, we are going to be moving to Chicago in a few weeks.."
"Wha-what..?" I asked quietly. "In a few weeks? I have to leave everything? This is our home mom.. We have so many memories here. I grew up here. And I'm going to have to leave behind everything.. Tyl- I stop myself.
I have to leave Tyler.
I can't leave him. He's.. He's. I need him. He needs me.. I think to myself.
"I'm happy for you mom.. I really am.. And I have no choice here..? Do I?" I ask my mom as I try to hold back the tears.
"Oh honey. I'm so sorry. But I promise you will like it there. Downtown Chicago is so beautiful. And we will be livening in this beautiful penthouse.. It will be okay. You will meet new friends. "Oh I'm sorry Hun.." My mom says, feeling a bit guilty.
"It's okay mom.." I say laying back down on my bed.
"I have to go to work now.. I love you." She said as she kissed my forehead and left.
I can't believe I have to leave. How am I supposed to break this to Tyler. He's going to be so crushed.. I think to myself.
Just then my phone buzzes
- Loser 🙈 ☺️ -
" Hey Amber! I have been rehearsing all day for our show. I can't wait for you to see us play live!! It's going to be SICK 😂☺️ "
Ugh.. Great. I really don't want to do this. I feel so bad. Tyler doesn't deserve this.
"That's great! I can't wait to see you guys play! You will do great!" I replied, trying to sound happy.
