Chapter 8

I wake up to Tyler lightly pushing me.
"Amberrrrrr, wake upppaaahhhh" He said as he dragged out his words "your. Going to be late for work dork."
"I'm uppaahhhh" I said as I mocked Tyler's voice. "What time is it?" I ask, still very tired.
"Well this is the third time I tried to wake you up. It's 11;45." Ty said as he checked his phone
"Ughh. Okay okay." I say before getting up. I go to the bathroom that's in Tyler's room.
"WHOA. Tyler I'm sorry you had to see me like this. I literally look like a troll" I said as I let out a little laugh but also pretty embarrassed.
"Okay you defiantly don't look like a troll, but don't be sorry. I think you look adorable when your sleepy." Tyler said blushing a bit.
"Awh. Thanks loser" I said with a smile.  "Now can you throw me my bag please?"
"Ugh I guess. If I have toooo" he said, trying to act like a little kid.
"Oh hush. I'll be out at like 12:20."
"Damn, what do you have to do in there?" He asked. "Like I said you already look beautiful to me." Tyler said which made me blush.
"Thanks Tyler but I don't look beautiful to myself so I have to get ready.." I said with a light fake smile on my face.
"Okay okay. I'll be watching tv."
After about a half hour I finally finish getting ready and get out of the bathroom. I sit on Tyler's bed to quickly put on my shoes.
"Bye loser, I'll see you after work okay?" I say walking out the Door.
"Wait!" Tyler screams and he runs after me. He finally reaches me at the end of the stairs and gives me a huge hug. " you almost forgot this." He says right before kissing me. It was a long, passionate kiss. We finally parted for air when I couldn't stop smiling into the kiss.
"I have a surprise for you so hurry and come home from work!" He said before giving me one more peck on the lips. "I love you, stay safe." He says before finally letting me walk out his front door.
Work when by pretty fast actually. There weren't many people at the store so me and Sarah were playing music off of our phones and occasionally dancing with eachother. Me and Sarah are becoming pretty close. She's really sweet and caring. She's told me about her childhood and how her father waked out on her and her mom when she was 5. She says she still remembers that day. I can already tell that she is the type of person who will never leave you, because she knows how it feels to be left and she doesn't want anyone else to feel like that.
Once my shift was over I gave Sarah a hug since she still had an hour of work, and headed home.
"I'm on my way home from work. What is the surprise 😝" I sent Tyler a text.
"Meet me at the park. Where we first met. Love you" ❤️
I go to the park and sit down at the tree where me and Tyler first met. As soon as I sit down hundreds of memories come flooding in. Time after time when I would come here after my dad would hit me or we would get in arguments, or when my uncle passed away. Just the memories of me sitting here alone staring blankly at the sky. And of course, the most important memory, when I met Tyler.
"Hey darling" Ty says from behind me as he put his arms around me.
"Jesus Tyler you scared me" I said after I jumped.
"Hey what's wrong?"
"Nothing, just thinking. When I sat here, so many memories came  flooding in.." I said as I tried not to make eye contact with Tyler.
He puts his finger under my chin and lifts me head up.
"Well I know how I can change your mood and get your mind off things" he said with a smile
"Since your leaving in like a week, and we haven't done much together and  we have like no pictures together, I want to take you on kind of a mini road trip. Since me and josh don't have to play shows for a few days and since you are leaving, I decided we should. We are going to take a bunch of pictures and it's going to be great" he said sounding even more happy.
"What!? Really Tyler? Oh my gosh thank you thank you thank you" I said as I hugged him really tight.
"You should do that more often" Tyler said with a little laugh, right after I had kissed him.
"Oh hush. Tyler really you didn't have to do this for me though" I said feeling a little guilty.
"No stop Amber. I want to. I love you so much and I'm going to miss you.. And we need to have some fun!" He said laughing.
"I love you Tyler" I said as I hugged him again.
"Wait so when are we leaving? And where are we going?" I said as we started walking to my house.
"We are leaving tomorrow around 2pm. Me and josh are busy in the morning trying to book more shows. And I'm not telling you, it's a surprise" he said with a smirk. "We will be there for four days so have clothes packed. And bring your bathing suit"
We were In front of my house now.
"Tyler I'm really going to miss you. These past months that we have been best friends and now your my boyfriend, they were the best I've ever had. Tyler you have helped me overcome a lot. I love you. I don't want to leave you." I said as I hugged him. I'm trying to fight back the tears but it's not working.
"Amber, I love you too. You have helped me a lot to. I don't really like to talk about my problems but whenever I'm with you they all seem to go away. And trust me I don't want you to leave either. I'm going to miss you. But please don't cry okay?  We are still going to be together. It might be hard but we will get through this. We will skype everyday and we can visit eachother. I love you" Ty said as he tried to reassure me.
"Okay.." I said quietly.
"I love you" he says before passionately kissing me.
"I'm going to miss this" I said, still in his arms not wanting to leave. We stay there a few more minute just enjoying each others company.
"Goodbye Tyler. I'll see you tomorrow. I can't wait" I said smiling.
"Okay, see you tomorrow. I love you" he said before giving me another quick kiss.
I went inside and started to pack. I packed some shorts and jeans with tank tops and sweaters because it's the end of August and you never really know what the weather will be like.
I also pack my charger and everything. I will need.
"Hey mom I'm going away on a road trip with Tyler for a few days" I texted her. She was already in Chicago setting up the house and everything.
"I know Hun. He already called and asked me yesterday. He really is a sweet boy." She texts back. God I love him. The little things that he does. No guys ever text their girlfriends parents to ask if he could take her somewhere Anymore.
"Oh okay. And yeah he is. He is great. I'm going to miss him" I text back. I shouldn't have said that because then she is going to feel guilty.
"I'm sorry hunny. But you guys can still be together. It will work out." She text back.
"I'm going to go to sleep. Night mom. I love you."
"Goodnight sweety. Stay safe, I love you." She text back almost immediately.
I quickly take a shower and blow dry and straighten my hair for tomorrow. I put on some pajamas and layed down. I couldn't stop thinking about Tyler, and what life will be like in Chicago. Since I graduated this summer I probably won't meet anyone for a while. I'm going to miss this place. I remember living here and first moving in from our old house. I was so happy to get "the big room". My parents were happily married and everything was perfect. When I started school I had a few friends, but I was on the outside of their circle. I rarely got invited to hangout with all of them and if I wanted to be apart of something I would be the one to have to plan it, just so I could get included. Kids were always so mean. I was always told I am "annoying" , "stupid" , "ugly" , "fat" and many, many more things. After elementary school and when I went into junior high, I just kind of shut down. I barely talked to anyone, I never  ate, all I did was sleep, listen to music, and do school work.  I really never even talked to my parents. Once I entered high school, is when my dads drinking problem got worse. He would come home drunk every night, he was a huge ass to my mom and me. I'm almost positive he cheated on her more than a few times. She deserved better than him.
I finally fell asleep when I started thinking about Tyler, and what life will be like when we are older.
