When I got home, I was alone. Kennedy, had band practice and my mom was still at work. I turned on the TV and walked to the kitchen. I made myself some popcorn and sat down. Suddenly, my phone buzzed in my pocket. It was Sam. "Are you home?" He asked. He'd always text me that after school to make sure I got home ok after all the Jimmy stuff happened. "Yeah, watching Tv" I texted back. "Alrighty then:-) see you tonight babe" he texted. I smiled, he was so amazing. The news came on. I grabbed a handful of popcorn and watched. I fell asleep and was awoke by my mom. "Honey, it's 6:00" she said. "Oh crap! Sam is picking me up at 7:00 for dinner!" I said as I got up. "Um, I was not informed about this" my mom said. I stopped and walked back to her. "Mom, we're just going to a nice restaurant on the town, he's paying and we'll be back by 9:00" I said calmly. "You have got to tell me where you are going, you can't just spring things on me. You know how I am about this" she said as she sat down on the sofa. I sighed and sat next to her. "Mom, you have got to let that go, I'm a new person now. I love Sam and he loves me. He treats me like a princess and he knows how to love me in a healthy way. Jimmy is so in the past" I said. His name stung my heart. She looked at me with the tears in her eyes, she will never get over it. "I love you, Stevie. You don't know how hard it is to work for the man who did that to you, to give him ideas and go to his stupid dinner parties and act like nothing ever happened." She said through her tears. It took a lot not to cry with her, I had to look away. "Mom, I'll be going to college soon, you have to stop worrying. I will be far away, far away from Jimmy" I said. "Go get ready" she said and then walked off to her room. I watched her walk away. A lot of memories rushed back to my head. A single tear fell from my eye. I quickly brushed it away and got up to get ready. I curled my hair in long bouncy curls and braided the top in a French braid to make it look like I had a braided headband. I applied smokey eye eye makeup and finished the look with red lip stain. I then pulled out my black dress. It went down to my knees and had a cute cutout in the back. I then put on cute black heels to match my dress. I liked so much older, I was always good at that. Suddenly, I heard the door open and heard Sam's voice. "Hello....." I heard him say and then mumble other stuff to my mom. I grabbed my purse and walked out. "Hey!" I greeted as I hugged him. "Hey! You look beautiful" he said admiring my look. I smiled and laughed. "Why thank you" I said. "Where are you guys going?" My mom asked a little to pushy. "Um this fancy restaurant in Brooklyn" he said. "Where though" my mom asked. I gave her look, why does she do this? Sam went up to her ear and whispered it."Ohhhh, nice. Well, you two have fun..." She said after listening. "Thank you" he said and then headed for the door. I followed. "Bye!" I said and then closed the door. "So, what is this so secretive place your taking me?" I asked as we walked towards the street. "You'll see" he said and then hailed a taxi. "After you" he said opening the door for me. I smiled at him and the got in. He got in next to me. He whispered the address into the cab drivers ear. The cab driver nodded and started driving. "So, are you guys dating?" The cab driver asked. "Uh yeah" Sam said blushing. "Well, she is a pretty thing" the cab driver said. I blushed and moved a strand a hair back. "Thank you" I said. We drove by Rockafellar plaza. "My daughter is there" the cab driver said pointing to it. "Really?" I asked. "Yeah, she interns for some show there" he said. "Cool" I said. "She knows all the famous people, Seth Meyers, all the cast of Saturday Night Live and Jimmy Fallon" he said. My heart dropped. "Wow...." Was all I could say. Sam looked at me, he knew. "I'm sorry" he said. "It's okay! It's fine....." I said trying to sound like it hadn't bothered me. "So how long have you lived in New York?" Sam asked, changing the subject. I smiled at him. The taxi driver started going on about how long he's lived here. I looked out the window and watched the buildings pass by. "Hey, are you okay?" Sam asked breaking the silence. "Yeah, just thinking" I said. "Hey, he will never hurt you again" Sam said. I smiled at him. "Thanks" I said.

When we got to the restaurant, immediately felt uncomfortable. He had taken me to one of the most exclusive restaurants in Brooklyn. "How did you get us in?" I whispered as we walked in. "I didn't" he whispered and then went up to the hostess. "Anderson" he said to her. She looked at the seating chart and smiled. "Right this way" she said and then led us to a table. We sat in a cute little table by the window. "Your waiter will be here shortly" she said as she sat down out menus and then walked away. I looks at Sam. "Anderson?"I asked. He laughed awkwardly. "Yeah, I may have told a little white lie" he said. "Sam, you're last name is not Anderson , it's Craig." I said. "Obviously, just go with it" he said. "This was the it way I could get us in" he said. I smiled at him. "Thanks" I said and the looked at the menu. "Sam, all of this is so expensive" I said looking at the menu. "No, Stevie. Nothing is off limits" he said. I gave him a small smile. "Okay maybe the steak is" he said. I laughed. "Yeah, that's what I thought" I said giggling. "Good evening, I am your waiter for tonight, what drinks can I start you with?" The waiter asked when he came to our table. "I'll take a glass of champagne" Sam said smoothly. I gave him a look. "Yes sir, and Miss?" The waiter asked as he wrote down Sam's order. "Um....I'll take a glass, too" I said. "Certainly, I'll be back" the waiter said and then left. "Sam! We aren't 21" I whispered. "Well, thanks to your amazing boyfriend, I looked up places in advanced to see if they card a lot. And...well, we are 21 tonight" he said. I giggled. "We are just some rebels" I said. He nodded. "So, have you thought about USC?" Sam asked. "Yeah, I think I'm going so I can be near you" I said. He smiled. "Stevie, you don't have to do that. If you want to go somewhere else you can. We'll call and text." He said. "I know, but I need to be with you. I think I'll go crazy without you" I said truthfully. He gave me a sympathetic look. "Don't give me that look!" I said. "What look?" He asked. "That poor-little-broken-girl look" I said. "I wasn't!" He defended. "Whatever..." I said. "You're my poor-little-broken-girl" he said. I giggled. Dark humor pleases me in a weird way. "Well good" I said. "Here we go." The waiter said walking up to our table with the champagne. "For the Mr." He said pouring champagne into Sam's glass. "And for the Mrs-whoops!" The waiter said as the bottle fell onto my lap. "What the heck, man!" Sam yelled at the waiter. He gave me napkins. "It wasn't me! Sir, watch where you're going!" The waiter yelled at a guy behind him. "What?! Oh my god I'm sorrrrryyy" the guy said as he turned around. Oh god, the voice. It's him. I quickly got up, but when I did, I banged the table with my knees. "Stevie?" Jimmy asked. He was drunk. I looked away and tried to dry myself quickly with napkins. "Dude! What the hell! Watch where you're going!" Sam yelled at Jimmy, not realizing who it was. "Get away from me" I said to Jimmy who was trying to get closer to me. "Oh god" Sam said, realizing who it was. "Get the hell away from her!" Sam yelled, pushing Jimmy away. "Whoa! Calm down! I know her. We have uhhhhh history." Jimmy said to Sam. "Yeah I know. I'm her boyfriend, so get the hell away from her before I beat your ass, Fallon!" Sam yelled. By now, the whole restaurant was watching. "Sam, stop." Said gathering my stuff. "No! He's and asshole who already hurt you once!" He said. "Stevie, you look great! Where was this body when we were dating?" Jimmy asked laughing. "That's it!" Sam said and then lashed at Jimmy. "SAM!" I yelled. He grabbed Jimmy's collar and a started yanking it. "STOP!" I yelled. "Hey! Hey! Stop!" Someone yelled pulling Sam off. "Get out! Both of you!" The guy yelled at us. "Gladly!" Sam yelled at him. "Let's go, babe" he said. I was in tears. "You're drunk. You are now and you will die drunk" I whispered into Jimmy's ear as I walked passed him. He gave me a funny look. "Stevie! I'm sorry." He said. I stopped. I took all I had not to turn around. "C'mon" Sam said. I started walking towards the door, without looking back.
