A Life So Unexpected {Waterloo Road}

Chapter Eight

Skyler and Tom were loving their married life. Skyler had recently moved back in with him. Natalia was so happy to be with her parents. "Morning Mrs Clarkson" Skyler grinned, she loved the sound of 'Mrs Clarkson'.

Mia hadn't spoken to Chris since he ruined her wedding, she hadn't been in school either. Max was planning on a honeymoon for himself and Mia, he felt she needed sometime away from Rochdale. When Mia came downstairs Max had fed Evie and gotten her dressed "you didn't have to do that" Max looked over to her and smiled "she's my daughter" Mia grinned at Evie who was learning to hold stuff.

Mia had reluctantly agreed to go into school but she wasn't happy about it. When they arrived there Mia took Evie to the creche and Max went to his office. Mia left the creche and Chris came down the corridor "keep away from me" Chris sighed and spoke "Mia please" Mia rolled her eyes "listen to what? You punched Skyler! You frightened Evie and Natalia. How do you think that made me feel Chris?" Chris knew Mia was angry but he felt like he was losing his baby sister "I'm sorry".

Skyler and Tom pulled up into school and Tom leaned over "I'll see you later Mrs Clarkson" Skyler grinned as she got Natalia out and took her to the creche.

Things were tense between Max and Chris. Rachel could tell that something had happened between them but she didn't know what "look whatever has happened between the two of you, you need to maintain professionalism" Chris rolled his eyes and Max said nothing. When the meeting was over Chris stood and left immediatley "what's going on?" Max shook his head "it doesn't matter" Rachel sighed "Max, I need to know" Max glared "keep your nose out of my business" Rachel stood and left the office.

Mia didn't want to be in Chris' lesson but she knew she had to attend. The lesson was tense, Skyler was trying to keep Mia calm but it wasn't working as well as she hoped "look, I know you're angry but don't let him know" Mia scoffed "easier said than done".

Tom couldn't wait to see Skyler, she now knew how much she meant to him and how much he loved her. She and their daughter were his family and he couldn't believe that they were his. That night Tom was planning on a cooking a meal for them.

*A Few Hours Later*

It was nearing the end of the school day and Mia couldn't wait to go back home and be with her husband and daughter.

Rachel hadn't had any luck in finding out why Chris and Max weren't talking. Part of her was wondering if it was something to do with Mia. As it was near the end of the day, Rachel would speak to Chris tomorrow and find out what had happened.

School had eventually ended so Mia went to get Evie from the creche. When she got there she saw Chris standing there with Evie "what are you doing in here?" Chris sighed "we need to talk" Mia rolled her eyes "no we don't, we have nothing to say" Mia took Evie from the creche and left leaving Chris standing there debating on weather to tell Mia the truth or not.

Tom had cooked the meal while Skyler had put Natalia to bed. When she came back down Tom had the meal all laid out on the table "what's all this in aid of?" Tom smiled "I just want show my love for you" Skyler grinned and kissed him "this is beautiful, thank you".

Max had made dinner while Mia caught up on some homework. During the meal Mia kept her eye on Evie "she's fine" Mia grinned "I know she is" .

Tom and Skyler had wound up in bed and they were both breathless "I never get tired of that" Tom laughed "thanks" Skyler kissed him "you're the only man for me Tom Clarkson" Tom grinned "I love you Skyler, more than anything" Skyler cuddled into him "I love you too. Marrying you was the second best thing I've ever done. First is Natalia" Tom kissed her and they fell asleep.

Mia and Max had put Evie to bed and they went to sit on the sofa "you're not that bad of a cook" Max smirked and started kissing her "you're an amazing girl Mia" Mia grinned "thanks, I think". Max took Mia up to the bedroom "remember, we don't have to do anything you don't want to" Mia smiled "I know, this is why I love you" Max kissed her before she cuddled into him and they fell asleep together.
