A Life So Unexpected {Waterloo Road}

Chapter Six

A/N - This isn't going to be a long update. Not having a good day.

 Mia and Max had been getting closer. Mia didn't care what anyone said. She was in love with him. Chris had made his disapproval visable but Mia wouldn't listen.

Max was planning on proposing to Mia. He had the engagment ring already. Mia was the love of his life and the mother of his daughter.

Mia was getting ready for school. Kim had offered to get Evie ready, Mia had the feeling that Kim was trying to play Mum to Evie. Once Mia was ready she went downstairs and saw Evie in her bouncer in the outfit that Mia didn't choose "who put her in that?" Kim looked over at Mia "I did" Mia sighed and walked over to where Skyler was standing "this is beginning to annoy me, she's taking over like Evie is her own kid" Skyler sympathetically smiled "maybe talk to Max?" Mia sighed "I might have too".

Arriving at school Mia and Skyler took Evie and Natalia to the Crèche. Once their daughters were settled Mia went to speak with Max.

Max sat in the office looking at the engagment ring he had. When Mia next brought Evie over to his he would ask her then. The office door knocked so he put the ring in his pocket "come", the door opened and Mia came in "can you have a word with Kim? She's treating Evie like she's her own" Max nodded "sure" Mia grinned and walked over to the desk "Evie missed you this weekend" Max pulled Mia onto his lap "I want to see you soon" Mia nodded "how about tonight? I'll tell Chris its your night with Evie" Max nodded and smirked "good, there's something we need to discuss" Mia nodded again "I should go".

Things were getting even more tense between Skyler and Tom as he had recently proposed to Rose. Natalia got scared of all the arguments and she hid behind someone's legs. As it was English Mia sat with Skyler in Tom's classroom "Sir, when are you and the dinnerlady getting wed?" Tom laughed and spoke "when we've set a date. And I need to sort some stuff out" Skyler rolled her eyes and looked at Mia "by that, he means me" Mia sadly smiled "ignore it, he has nothing better to do than too annoy you".

The English lesson had ended and so Mia left. Skyler stayed behind to speak with Tom "you don't have to rub your engagment in my face" Tom turned and rolled his eyes "I'm not doing that. I was asked a question about my upcoming wedding and I answered it" Skyler scoffed "whatever Tom, leave me alone" Skyler went to walk off when Tom grabbed her arm and turned her to him planting his lips on hers in a passionate embrace.

After a few minutes Skyler pushed him away and slapped him "don't ever touch me again Tom! You're engaged and I'm over you" Tom frowned as Skyler walked off.

Mia left after checking on Evie and she bumped into Skyler "woah, what happened?" Skyler had tears flowing down her face "we kissed! I kissed a man who's engaged!" Mia was shocked "you kissed?" Skyler rolled her eyes and nodded "yeah, I feel so stupid. After we kissed I slapped him" Mia couldn't believe what Skyler told her "you hit him?" Skyler nodded again "yeah".

*A Few Hours Later*

School had ended so Mia and Skyler went to collect Evie and Natalia from the Crèche. Arriving back home Mia told Chris that Max was having Evie for a few hours. Chris had become like an older brother to Skyler and so Skyler was staying with him while Mia was gone.

Arriving at Max's, Mia handed Evie over to him and they sat on the sofa together. "What's this about then?" Mia asked Max. Max turned to her "I've never stopped loving you. Even when you were gone and I found myself wanting to be with you for the rest of my life" Mia felt her eyes fill with tears and Max spoke again "you and our daughter are the only two people that matter to me which is why I want you to marry me" Mia was shocked but it took her two minutes to answer "yes" Max smirked and kissed Mia as best he could with Evie in his arms.

A few hours later Mia went home with Evie. "How'd it go?" Mia looked at Skyler as she put Evie in the cot "Max proposed. I said yes" Skyler looked happy "you're getting married?" Mia grinned and nodded "yeah, I am. Can you believe it? I know I can't" Skyler hugged Mia "congratulations" Mia smiled "thanks".

After talking for a few hours both girls checked on their sleeping daughters and fell asleep. Not believing what had happened that day.
