Chapter Fourteen

Tom had been making hints to Skyler that he wanted another baby. Skyler wanted another baby too but she was only in her GCSE year and she didn't need another distraction.

Mia and Max had gone away with Evie at the weekend. Mia wasn't able to talk to Chris yet and Max fully supported her. "Are you ready?" Max asked. Mia nodded.

"Yeah. Is Evie okay?" Mia asked him. Max nodded and kissed Mia before picking up Evie and heading out to the car.

Arriving at school Mia noticed Skyler standing alone. "Can you take Evie? I think Skyler's upset about something," Mia said. Max nodded and kissed Mia before walking off with his daughter.

Mia went over to Skyler. She had tears rolling down her face. "Hey, what's wrong?" Mia asked. Skyler looked up and she broke down crying.

"I think Tom hates me because he wants another baby but I want to focus on my GCSEs," Skyler said. Mia pulled Skyler into a hug.

"Look hon, you're the one who has to decide weather you want another baby or not. Its your GCSE year and you need to focus on that. If Tom truly loves you then he'll accept what you want and wait for you to be ready," Mia said. Skyler nodded.

"Thanks Mia. Did you enjoy your weekend away?" Skyler asked. Mia grinned and nodded.

"It was perfect. Max was incredibly sweet and romantic," Mia said. Skyler smiled. "I think we should head to registration," Mia told her. Skyler nodded.

Max was sitting in the office catching up on some paperwork. Chris came in. "I need you to get Mia to talk to me," Chris said. Max looked up.

"Why would I do that?" Max asked. Chris sighed.

"Max, she needs her family. She's not as strong as what she thinks," Chris said. Max scoffed and stood.

"As far as Mia is concerned me and our child are her only family. You hurt her when you didn't tell her about Kim's pregnancy," Max said. Chris sighed and looked at Max.

"She didn't tell me she was pregnant. Imagine the shock I got when my little sister turns up with a kid," Chris told him. Max rolled his eyes and sat back down.

It was breaktime so Mia and Skyler sat in the creche with Evie and Natalia. "I think I may have another baby. I don't want Tom to leave me," Skyler said. Mia was shocked and she turned to Skyler.

"Skyler, if you don't want another baby then go on the pill. If Tom loves you then he will respect your decision. Max doesn't make me do anything I don't want too. Tom should be the same," Mia told Skyler. Skyler broke down crying.

"If Tom leaves me I don't know what I'd do. I'm not able to raise Natalia alone. I'm scared in case I do something wrong," Skyler admitted. Mia sighed.

"You're not alone Skyler. You have me and Max there for you," Mia said. Skyler smiled.

"Thanks Mia," Skyler said. Mia hugged Skyler and they continued playing with their daughters.

Max saw Tom so he went over to him. "How's Skyler?" He asked. Tom nodded and smiled.

"She's great. We're planning for another baby," Tom said. Max frowned.

"She's in her GCSE year. Does she want the distraction of another child?" Max asked. Tom sighed.

"I love her. I want her to have my kids," Tom told him. Max sighed. "Don't you want more kids with Mia?" Tom asked Max. Max nodded.

"I do but when she's ready too. I also know that Mia wants to wait until her exams are over," Max said. Tom sighed and rubbed his face with his hands.

"I don't want Skyler to go off me," Tom admitted. Max smirked and looked at Tom.

"That's not possible. I've seen the love she has for you," Max said. Tom smiled.

*A Few Hours Later*

School had ended so Max drove Mia and Evie home. "Tom tells me he and Skyler are planning for another child," Max said. Mia frowned and looked at Max.

"Skyler said she doesn't want another baby yet. She wants to do her GCSEs first," Mia told him. Max sighed.

"Tom is convinced that she's going to leave him," Max said to her. Mia grinned.

"She won't leave him. She loves him," Mia said. Max nodded.

Tom made dinner. "No want this daddy," Natalia said. Tom rolled his eyes but smiled.

"Eat that and daddy will let you have ice cream," Tom told her. Natalia giggled and ate her dinner. Skyler smiled.

"You're an amazing dad Tom," Skyler said. Tom kissed her and they ate their dinner.

Max was washing up from dinner while Mia got Evie changed for bed. Once Evie was tucked up in bed Mia sat with Max. "I'm way too tired," Mia said. Max kissed her head and she lay down on the sofa.

Tom and Skyler lay in bed together. Skyler was trying to pluck up the courage to tell Tom she was going on the pill. "To-Tom, I've been thinking today and that I wanna go on the pill," Skyler said. Tom looked at Skyler.

"I thought we both wanted a baby? Why are you doing this?" Tom asked. Skyler started crying.

"I don't want another baby yet Tom. I wanna focus on my exams. Understand this please," Skyler pleaded. Tom got out of bed.

"I'm staying in the spare room tonight," Tom said. Skyler cried into her pillow. She thought Tom didn't love her anymore.

Mia and Max went up to bed and Mia's phone went off signalling a text message.

'Tom hates me because I'm going on the pill - Skyler.

'You have to do what's best for you. Its up to you what you want -Mia

'I don't want him to hate me - Skyler

'I'll talk to him at school. I'm going to bed. Night hon - Mia

'Night. Thanks Mia. I appreciate this - Skyler

Mia sighed as she climbed into bed. "Problem?" Max asked. Mia nodded.

"Skyler's going on the pill and she thinks Tom hates her for it," Mia said. Max sighed.

"I'll speak with Tom tomorrow. I'll make him understand," Max said. Mia smiled and kissed him before they fell asleep.
