Chapter 4

"So I'll see you tomorrow?" He asked as he looked at his computer screen, readjusting his tie. After a moment of silence, his eyes locked with mine. He's extremely good at being intimidating when he wants, because the look itself made me answer instantly.

"Uh, y-yeah for sure" I smiled faintly trying to cover up my stuttering.

I just don't understand how a man like him, is putting his trust in me to watch his kids. I know I won't disappoint but his demeanor doesn't give off that he does trust me 100%.

"Well I'll see you later." I smiled faintly looking down at my shoes. I needed to get out of there before I did something stupid. Stuttering was enough for me.

"Here... I'll walk you out." he offered as he got up from the seat. I looked up to see him smiling. Okay, so maybe I jumped the gun, he is nice?

We start to walk down the hall silently until we reach the bottom of the stair case. The stair case was honestly, just beautiful. It started off small but the more you went down, the more extended the stairs got. This house was just built to perfection, I felt like I didn't belong.

He opened the door for me like a gentlemen and I smiled a silent 'thank you' to which, he nodded his head in return as I walked out.

"So Friday?" He asked reassuring.

"Yes, I'll be here on Friday." I confirm.

"Okay, I'll send my driver to pick you up then." he said, keeping up his professionalism.

I wonder what he'd sound like when he's being himself

"You don't have to Mr. Davis."

"I insist, and call me Lans."

"Okay?... Lans"

He smiled and for the first time, my eyes immediately locked with his lips. His soft pink plump lips—

"Well my wife should be home any minute by now so I should probably get going."

He has a freaking wife! Ugh, How could I forget that stupid ring on his profile?

'Omg did you really think he was gonna go for a teen girl like you, he's freaking 35'

I will admit he looks good for his age. If it was up to me, I would've guessed 29 but you can tell from the way he carries himself, he's a vet.

Wow, there something wrong with me. The more I think about it, the more attractive he looks.

"Monroe? Are you ready to go?"

I snapped out of my thoughts realizing the door was already closed. Damnit. I've been standing in front of this door probably looking like a creep.

"Uh, yeah, sorry I was trying to remember if my mom wanted me to make dinner tonight or if she was." I lied straight through my teeth. We both shared a chuckle before I readjusted my side bag, and made my way down the steps to the monster car.

I hopped in once again and buckled my seat beat. I looked over at Travis and could see he was just mindlessly looking out at the trees.

So I took it upon myself to grab the aux cord like I did earlier, to connect my phone. That is, until Travis smacked my hand.

"No. more. singing." he said in all seriousness before putting the car on drive and pulling off.

"How'd it go?" Julia asked, as I laid on my back, dazing up at my bedroom ceiling.

"Well I'm babysitting Friday so I guess I did well?" she threw herself on my bed to lay next to me.

"That's great! Your first day on your first job."

"Hey I worked at mcdonalds once." I furrowed my brows and turned to face her. I could never forget sophomore year at mcdonald's. Trauma.

"What's better? Saying your first job was  mcdonalds or taking care of kids?" She said turning her head to face me as well.

"Yeah you're right. Those McDonald days should be forgotten and burned."

"In a hole." She added before we giggled together. Once the joke died off, she grabbed the bag of Doritos off my desk and ruffled it open for both of us to share.

"So how was the house?" She asked as she tossed 2 chips in her mouth.

I nearly choke on the deformed shaped chip when she asked the question. House? More like mansion.

"HUGE!"

"Really!" She said through her chewed up Doritos.

"Yup. I'm even sure I saw a tennis court behind the pool through his office window."

"He has a office in his house?"

"Julia, I just said he has a pool and possibly a tennis court and you're focused on the fact that he has an office in his house?"

"Well not every house is big enough for an office, Jenn."

"He doesn't have a house. It's basically a mansion"

"Lucky!"

"Well I mean he looks rich so what if his kids are spoiled rotten? You know how spoiled rotten kids act."

"Yeah. . . maybe you're not lucky." she shrugged, throwing another chip in her mouth.

"Wow what a great friend."

"You're welcome." She smiled childishly.

We basically spent the rest of the after noon watching movies and creeping on instagram and twitter until Julia had to go home. Once she left, I took a shower and changed into my white tank top and black spandex.

'Sexy plump lips'

Literally all that was on my mind.

I might find my boss attractive. If I'm being honest, I blame his demeanor, and his eyes, and his lips, and omg I'm actually doing it again. He's not even my boss yet and I'm already attracted to him. He's 35, what the hell?

Seriously Jenn get yourself together. We need this job. No funny business.

Finding him attractive doesn't have to be a known fact, it can just be a fact only I know. It's the safest bet anyways.
