Chapter 9
"I'm home!" Dan shouted from the living room. I heard Lans let out a sigh before letting go of me. He sounded almost as if he was disappointed that Dan was here to ruin the moment.
"Where is everyone?" I faintly heard him ask outside the kitchen. I went to open the fridge and shouted 'in here' so it wouldn't seem like anything had happened.
'What did happen?'
"There you guys are... DAD!" He said, running over and jumping into him. I just stood there, all hot and bothered for reasons I couldn't never voice out loud.
"Hey kiddo!" He laughed, hugging him close, "How was Johnny's?"
"It was great! We played video games and saw the marvel movie and..." he continued to ramble on about his day he had with his friend Johnny.
"Well I'm gonna go." I said taking out a bottle of water from the fridge. The Davis' were very kind when it came to my needs. They let me snack on snacks and gave me open-access to the drinks. That was their first mistake.
"You should start getting ready, we leave in an hour or two-" he said looking up from his little wrestling match he was having with Dan. "-and you need to start getting ready for bed young man. Go on, and tell Danielle the same."
"Okay, goodnight dad." He tried his best to give his dad the tightest hug he could before releasing him.
"Goodnight kiddo." he said ruffling Dans hair once more before the kid left the kitchen to fetch Danielle for bed.

Adding my last coat of blush and filling my eyebrows into perfection, I was ready. Just by looking at the dress, I knew tonight was going to be fancy, and that scared me. I've never been invited to an even like this. Yeah, it's a college reunion but seeing how successful Lans turned out, I'm pretty sure the people tonight are no different.
I made my way downstairs silently, so I wouldn't wake up the kids. It was 10 pm and Mr. Davis was waiting for me in the limo outside. Fancy. I really need to stop calling him Mr. Davis.
I made it to the bottom of the steps and quietly walked to the door in my heels making sure the clacking noise wasn't too loud. Gosh it feels like I'm sneaking out.
I went outside and saw the cutest white limo. It had a black outline around the long length with tinted black windows.
Travis was standing near the door and opened it for me. I gave him a quiet "thank you'" before going into the limo, where I was met with blue lights surrounding the whole inside of the limo. After glancing around the limo, I looked up and saw Mr. Dav-Lans.
"Hey." I said pulling one loose strand of my hair, behind me with the rest.
"Hello." he said from the other side of the limo. Why is he so far?
"Why are you so far?" I faintly asked. I don't wanna sound desperate but I did kinda want him to be closer.
"Do you want me to come closer?" He asked. God bless his deep voice.
"Well. . . Yeah." I said embarrassingly. Can I sound anymore desperate?
He slowly started sliding around to my side and every time he got closer, my heart rate got faster. As soon as I felt his touch, I knew I died right then and there.
