Chapter 10
I tried to fall asleep, but every minute that went by, I kept my ears focused on any sounds of the front door opening.
Finally it did. I heard the front door open and shut. Lans must be home. I checked the time on the clock and saw it was 3 o'clock in the morning.
I could hear him come up the stairs and I waited to for the footsteps to past my room, since his room is down the hall from mine. But he stops....
Please don't tell me he's doing what I think he is going to do. . .
Next thing I know, I hear my door knob twist and I swear I froze under the sheets. Once I finally heard the door open all the way I couldn't hear anything else.
Silence
At this point, I wasn't facing the door so I pretend to 'move in my sleep' to get a better look at him.
After a few more seconds of silence and trying to look for Lans in the dark I started to hear something. Chuckling.
"You are the worst fake sleeper I've ever met."
"Was I that bad?" I groaned. I was sleepy I'll admit that, but I wasn't sleeping.
"I saw your eyes open the whole time." he started to walk to my full length mirror while taking off his tie and putting it on top of my dresser, "You know, leaving me to catch a ride all by myself wasn't very nice, " he was looking at me through the mirror.
I tighten the sheets closer to me since I still had my bra and underwear on and didn't want him to see.
"I'm sorry."
"We'll make sure it doesn't happen again"
"Okay... Wait. Again? I didn't know I was going to accompany you again"
He took off his blazer and laid it on the dresser and started to walk towards me.
"Yeah well I like your company. Especially with you talking about how you fantasize about me." he said smiling.
I swear I turned so many shades of red, thank god it was dark in the room.
"I'm sorry about that. I was tipsy and I wasn't thinking and most definitely didn't mean it."
He leaned on my bed where both his hands were beside my head while he was holding his weight up so he wouldn't crush me.
"Well you know what they say. drunk words, sober thoughts" he whispered.
His breath was a mix of mints and faint champagne and my hormones couldn't take it.
"Jennifer." he whispered.
I opened my eyes not even realizing they were closed and saw his mesmerizing blue eyes from the faint street light coming in through the curtains.
"Yes." I whispered.
He got inches closer to the point where if I leaned in just a little... Our lips would touch.
"Kiss me."
I was a little hesitant at first but I still leaned in and kissed him anyways. Right as I was about to pull away, he deepen the kiss.
My body heat was over the roof and it felt like every muscle I used to hold back from doing this, released.
I gently grabbed his jaw while he grabbed my hips over the sheets.
I traced my hands to his shoulders and pushed him down on the bed so I was straddling him. We broke for air and in that second he sat up with me on him and he took off his button-up shirt.
