~5 years later~

Mattie walked her 24-year-old daughter, Dorinda, down the aisle to wed Greg. She was overjoyed that her daughters had allowed her to be the mother and grandmother she had always aspired to be.

As she looked at her second youngest, there was so much happiness in her eyes as she walked down the aisle to the man that she had loved since she was younger. Mattie said, " I always knew that you would run away with him one day. I'm excited that you got to experience love that wasn't forced."

Dorinda smiled and said, " he was always the love of my life. I'm glad you're here, Mom." Mattie, now known as Maria, burst into tears because her daughter had just called her "Mom" instead of "Mattie."

Dorinda was the one who never said mom and today she finally said it. Mattie said, "Thank you for forgiving me and allowing me to be your mom".

Jackie, standing in the bridesmaid's place, looked at her family: Glynn, her husband, her three sons, two of whom were adopted, and the one she had birthed.

As they all smiled and were a happy family, she looked at her mother, whom she now considered her mom, and was grateful for all the gifts that God had given her. She and Glynn had finished school. Now they were pregnant with their fourth child, a little girl. Jackie said, looking at her mother, "No tears, Mom, only Dorinda today. Now, hurry up and get her wed so I can get off my feet. This baby is heavy."

Twinkie was in tears as Jaxon, her husband, ran to her and held her. She wasn't aware yet. Neither was Jaxon; she was pregnant with their first child, and the hormones were getting to her. "This is beautiful. They're so happy, baby." As she watched, Dorinda walked down the aisle, as tears kept streaming down her face."

As everybody stared at Twinkie because she was distracting and crying hysterically. Jaxon said, "What y'all looking at, y'all don't know what they went through. Leave my wife alone." he hugged and kissed his wife, trying to calm her down. " It's OK, baby. You all deserve to be happy." With that, Twinkie cried more.

Because she was truly and honestly happy, but because of the hormones, she couldn't express it adequately. She and Karen were supposed to be singing. However, Twinkies' emotions got caught up.

Denise chuckled at Twinkie because she knew those emotions very well, having experienced them herself with Joyous. Denise was the photographer. She had her own business, and she was happy. She met a man named Elias, and they were currently dating; he was her date to the wedding. However, her focus remained on her child, business, and family.

She looked at Joyous, her 6-year-old, and said, "Hey, baby, give Auntie Twinkie a hug and a kiss. She's really emotional right now, and she needs your biggest hug." He ran over to his auntie Twinkie, and Denise snapped a photo, chuckling.

A 20-year-old Karen was watching Drew officiate the wedding between Dorinda and Greg, wondering what her wedding colors would be when she and Drew got married. She looked at the engagement ring on her finger.

She had one year left in college, and Drew was graduating this year. She was excited about the newfound happiness within herself and her family, and she prayed that it would never go away.

She and Drew glanced at each other, and Drew mouthed, "Love you, Karebear." Karen blushed and whispered, "And I love you".

It all began with one evil man who sought to control his legacy and his heirs. However, it ended with a strong family unit and an unshakable trust in God.
