(Ok, now that my Mac book, Beauty and the Devil, is done, this will be my main concern.)

With the moon washed sand all around me, and the dark, unnerving forest behind me, I gazed out into the endless expanse of water. Ships lined the harbor, all from the West coast. A couple were from foreign traders. I used to enjoy going to the docks as a little girl and sit on the edge, letting the ocean lap only a foot away from my dangling feet. I loved the ocean. Unfortunately, as I got older, my parents kept me in the castle for my "safety". Or just to do the paperwork they didn't want to do. The smell of salt water was welcoming, and the soft sand under my shoes was a nice change compared to the cold stone floors of the castle. I took the book out of my pocket, and used the bright full moon as light. I sat down on the sandy floor, loving the soft sand. I glanced into the horizon. Large dark storm clouds were gathering in the distance, and we're heading in my direction.

"Help me!" A call sounded from the distance. My head shot up immediately, and I glanced down the beach. That's when I noticed a black shape in the distance. I imminently got to my feet, just as a shape was racing to me.

"What's wrong?" I called, meeting him halfway. He had a rusty look to him. He had a long grey beard, and was wearing rage for clothes. He also had one green eye. The other was covered by an eye patch.

"Help! My boat is stranded on the shore an' my mate's stuck under it!" He declared, his yellow teeth gleaming in the moonlight. He smelt of whiskey and cigars. I enjoyed it, in a way.

"Where is he? Should I call the guards?" I asked frantically. Although adrenaline pumped through my veins.

"No! There's no time! Just help me!" He exclaimed, grabbing one of my hands in his and leading me down the beach. The further we ran from the kingdom, the more adrenaline rushed through my veins. I knew it was going to be short lived, but for the time being, I was going to be exhilarated by helping a complete stranger.

He led me towards the forest, and it amazed me that a boat could wash up so far up the beach. In the deep shade of the forest, I glanced around for the shape of a boat. The man stopped suddenly, and turned to face me.

"Where is your boat?" I asked, confused. He smirked at me, a glint in his eye.

Before I could say anything more, a strong pair of arms wrapped around me from behind, and a bag covered my head. I attempted screaming, but a hand covered my mouth through the bag. I tried to kick behind me, and managed to hit a meaty chin.

"Quit squirmin', little whore!"  Rough, raspy voice ordered. How rude!

I was dragged through the sand, and the sound of the ocean lapping at the sand became louder and more apparent. My heart was pounding in my chest.

It wasn't anything like a book.

Rocking back and forth in a small boat wasn't a pleasant experience. I didn't get sea sick, but I did get very, very drenched. All the while, the men were arguing about something I couldn't make out over the sound of the waves lapping at the boat. I was certain that it was about me. My heart was thumping in my chest, and, despite my circumstances, I was fairly sure that my heart was pounding because of the excitement. Even though it wasn't the time to be thrilled. I should have been terrified that these mangy men were kidnapping me and taking me out to sea.

But I wasn't. Fear wasn't my main concern. The excitement and thrill of this was exhilarating. It made my blood pump. My heart race.

But I knew how my poor mother would react. Loosing the last thing she loved and held dear. But she had to face facts. As much as I loved her, I didn't want the life I was currently living. I wanted adventure. Excitement. Romance. I wanted it all. I wanted to become Lady Penelope and find a handsome man to fall in love with.
