I took a deep breath, inhaling the sandy, leafy air. We were on the island. Jack and a couple others were with me, while everyone else had stayed the Norman. My sword now weighed heavily in its holder, as I faced the enormous jungle. Water lapped at the sand and rocks behind me, and monkeys and birds squawked in front of me. The crew stood behind me, a few of them glancing around nervously. I turned to face them.
"Jack, you lead us." I ordered. He nodded and pulled the map out. Then he led us into the dense jungle. I followed closely behind him, glancing from side to side. The trees here were gigantic compared to the ones in England. Vines and ivy snaked down from the trees, blocking our path. Luckily, Jack used his sword and started slicing at the undergrowth. Behind me, the men stomped down the path. I kept glancing around me, expecting cannibals to attack us any minute now. I had no knowledge of what they looked like, and I believe that that's what scared me the most.
"What do cannibals look like?" I whispered to Jack.
"Like men. They don't wear clothes, and paint their faces white. The only cannibals I've seen are the color of bronze." He explained without looking up from the map. "There really are no threats in England, are there?"
"Other than other kingdoms or pirates." I said, drawing my sword just in case. Jack nodded and led the way through the jungle, glancing at the map occasionally. I kept glancing around, not liking the jungle one bit. I'd much rather be on the ship, safe in Norman's warm embrace. But if I didn't get the medicine for him, then there would be no warm embrace to escape to.
I sighed, shoved a branch out of the way, and continued down the dark path.

I glanced up at the sky. By the way the sky was brightening to orange and pink, I could tell that it was nearing sundown. We were closer to the blue circle, but also scarily close to a red one.
"Shouldn't we be worried about them?" I hissed to Jack.
"If we're quiet, then we can get pass them with no trouble." He whispered.
Suddenly, there was a loud squawk overhead, making me jump out of my skin. Jack paused, and glanced up.
"Just a bird." He muttered. But just as he said that, I heard a soft pew, and one of the men behind me let out a gasp. I whipped around, seeing that one of my men had a red dart in his shoulder. He yanked it out.
"I'm fine." He muttered. I nodded, and we continued on our way, until I heard someone fall behind me.
"Adam's down! Man down!" One of the pirates called. I whipped around, and sure enough, the man who had been hit with the dart was laying on the leaf littered path....motionless. The man who had called Adam's falling leaned down, and pressed two fingers to his throat. "He's dead!" He exclaimed, looking up with terror.
"What?" I demanded, raising my hand towards him. Just as I did, there was another pew, and a yellow dart went soaring through the air, and it tore through my shirt sleeve, embedding itself into my arm. I yelped, and ripped it out immediately. Shortly after, through, I began to stumble, and black spots dotted my vision. I took a step forward, and felt my blood boiling, yet freezing at the same time. My stomach was doing flips, and my skin felt tingly. I stumbled forward, and before I could hit the hard ground, I heard Jack shout something.
"We're bein' attacked!"
