Isabelle:
Later that night, I was laying in bed with Charles. I had no other choice. He wouldn't let me sleep in the cell rooms underneath us. Norman was still down there, not having eaten dinner. I had left him mourning his ship and crew, sadly. But if I didn't leave, then Charles would've had to come down to retrieve me. And I didn't want the chance of Norman attacking Charles and getting himself in hotter water.
Suddenly, I felt Charles' arm wrap over my waist, ad his lips met my neck. "I love you, darling."
That was the final straw for me. I ripped away from him, glaring at him and wishing I could turn him to stone. "No. You don't." I growled.
"Of course I do, love." He said, gazing up at me with dull grey eyes.
"You only want to be a king! You don't give a flying fuck if I were killed!" I snapped.
Charles gasped at my improper language. "Isabelle! How dare you use such foul language!" I rolled my eyes. "Being with evil pirates has changed you."
"Evil? EVIL! Says the man who viciously slaughtered two dozen men and burnt a perfectly fine ship!" I roared.
"They kidnapped you!" Charles protested. By this point I had gotten off the bed and was getting dressed.
"Not those men that you killed! They were honorable men with an honorable captain! The captain had no intentions of harming or even kidnapping me!" I snapped.
"Now Isabelle, I believe you're under a spell-" oh my god, could this man be more thick skulled?
"I'm not on any spell!" I snapped. I had a deep violet dress on and was making my way to the door.
"Isabelle, love, wait-" Charles struggled to get changed into his clothes, but I was already leaving out the door. The ship that we were on was much cleaner and organized than the old ship. The crew were bustling around, carrying ropes and other gadgets back and forth.
"Good eve, Princess Isabelle." They all greeted me. I hated the title still, but tried to act dignified as I made my way down into the cells.
Norman was leaning against the far wall underneath the window, his head in his chained hands. I gently grasped the bars, feeling pity and sorrow for him.
"Norman? Love?" I asked, smiling lightly at him. He glanced up, and I saw that his eyes were bloodshot and puffy. Tear streaks stained his cheeks. It was a sad sight. I frowned slightly.
"It's gone. All of it..." He mumbled, shaking his head. "That ship had been in my family for generations."
"Norm..." I sniffed, needing to hug him. "Come here." He shook his head, burying his face in his hands once again. "Norman, that was an order." I hated using my royal status against him, but I needed him close. Norman reluctantly got to his feet, and made his way over to me, keeping his head bowed. Once he was in front of me, I wrapped me arms around him as best as I could. "I'm sorry. You were right. I shouldn't have been on that beach that night."
"In a way,com glad you were." He mumbled. "I love you, Isabelle."
Tears began to leak out of my eyes. "I love you too." I whispered. "I don't want you to die."
"I know." He murmured. "I know."
After a few more moments of holding each other, I pulled away. "I'll go get you some bread and cheese." I said. But Norman shook his head.
"I don't want to eat." He muttered. I sighed, and gave his cheek a swift peck.
"I know. But you have to eat to keep your strength up." I mumbled, holding his hands.
