Chapter 22

After unpacking and getting settled in his room, Dana brings me back up front to the other boys and Chalyiaa.

"So, you guys up for heading out for some fun?" Dalton asked us, looking around the circle of us expectantly. "Your first day in LA, you've gotta at least explore a bit." Dana added in, putting his arm around my shoulders, staring down at me. I just shrugged, wanting to stay in and talk, in all honesty. "Nah, I'm fine. Really I'm slightly jetlagged. Cool if we stay instead?" I asked hopefully. I guess a part of me knew that wasn't going to happen, but there's nothing wrong with being optimistic.

"Sach, first night. California. You've gotta come hang out, even just for a little bit." Dana shrugged into me, trying to persuade me.

And here I thought I could feign off peer pressure.

We all piled into a kidnapper van to compensate for our large number of passengers. Gabe drove, with Will in the passenger seat next to him, Dalton with the first row to himself, Dana and I right behind him, and Chalyiaa and Cole behind us in the very back. Once buckled in and on the road, I nudged Dana and slightly gestured to our friends behind us. He subtly looked behind him to catch them flirting, turning back to face me.

"I'm calling cannon."

I tried to keep in my laugh, ending up snorting due to the attempt. "You're a sap."

"Hey, where exactly do you guys plan on taking us?" I questioned, confused as to how nobody brought it up at all.

Gabe looked at me through the mirror, his eyes crinkling in such a way that I could tell his face held a devious grin.

"A club."

As we make our way inside the lowly lit room, I was instantly greeted with the smell of sweat, rum, and oddly enough, sex.

Don't people have the decency?

I cringed and leaned more into Dana. "You good?" He asked me, rubbing his hand up and down my arm. I nodded, feeling weary already. I wasn't really the party type, and I was hoping it didn't show to Dana's cool and hardcore friends; I really want to impress them and not have them think I was a squash or something. "I kinda don't wanna be here," I mumbled to him, only half hoping he couldn't hear me.

"Maybe you need a drink. "He said, leading me towards the bar in the place. As Dana ordered something, I looked out into the crowd of dancing bodies and inwardly sighed, hoping I wouldn't have to join in on that. Not to sound like a complete and total antisocial narc or anything.

"Here, drink this." He said to me, pushing a brown liquid in a shot glass toward me. I looked down at the contents in the little cup, before looking to Dana, raising my eyebrows. He smiled sheepishly and shrugged, urging me on. "Come on Sach, it'll loosen you up." He began, pushing the glass toward me once more, leaning his body into mine as well. He grabbed my hand and brought it up to the glass, bringing himself closer to my ear. "Make you less tense, he whispered in my ear. I could feel his breath on my neck, and it made me tighten my hand around the glass within my grip. "Let go," he muttered, his lips lightly brushing my neck.

Almost as if he predicted my reaction, he moved out of the way as I brought the shot up to my lips, swallowing mellowly before realizing what I was doing, embracing the burn in the back of my throat. My eyes widened, but to be honest, who wouldn't need a little shot after having that happen to them?

I look to Dana as he raises his eyebrows, silently asking me about it. I give a nod before grabbing his hand.

"Let's dance."

I lead him into the sea of gyration, hoping the effect of the very slight buzz I had didn't wear off of me before I started dancing. We got in the very middle of the floor just as a new song was beginning to play. 'Na Na' by Trey Songz came on, and I smiled widely at Dana, tugging at his shirt collar, and pulling him towards me. "This is my favorite song!" I yelled to him over the music, beginning to dance the motion that most people on the dancefloor were doing. I turned from Dana, my back to his front, grabbing his hands and pulling them to hang around my shoulders as I held them and danced.

"I need more drinks." I said, after about two minutes. Dana chuckled, leading me back to the bar, getting a few more drinks for me, and downing some himself, before I was truly buzzed. We went back and continued to dance.

Once he sang, 'put your hands in the air if you're lovin tonight, oh na na na, keep your hands in the air if you're lovin tonight,' I was slightly sweating, keeping Dana on me. I turned around to face him, roughly gripping his hair as I pulled him down so I could speak into his ear.

"I love this."

I brushed my mouth on his neck, just underneath his ear, hearing a throaty groan emit itself from my best friend's lips.

His pink lips.

Swollen slightly, from all the drinks we had taken.

Beautiful lips.

I subconsciously moved towards Dana, my lips a straight dive away from his.

Inches apart, I could smell the drink on his breath, identifying with my own.

I recoiled quickly, releasing Dana's hair as my body left the closeness of his. I covered my mouth with my hand, quickly rushing to make my way towards the signs above my destination, hurriedly slamming the door behind me and making my way into one of the stalls, not bothering to close that door before completely throwing up my entire stomach.

I hadn't noticed the bathroom door opening and closing, or the footsteps sounding across the tile flooring of the bathroom, or the presence of a body behind me until he moved my hair from near my mouth as I continued dumping the contents of my stomach.

I finally stopped puking, and began to lift myself up from the grimy floor, when I had the urge to go again, shoving my face halfway inside the toilet as a precaution. I continued again for another five minutes it seemed, until I was truly, truly done.

I headed to the sinks in the front of the bathroom, rinsing my mouth. I held tightly onto the sides of the sink, trying to catch my breath.

I outstretched my hand towards Dana, as he shuffled to find a piece of gum before placing it in my hand. I unwrapped the gum before placing it in my mouth, relishing in the taste of something fresh on my tongue. I walked over to Dana and grabbed his hand, pulling my body in closer to his.

He wrapped his hands around my back, leaning down to my ear. "You want to go home?" He asked me gently, and I nodded into his chest.

He nodded as well, and walked us back into the club. Somehow, everybody was somewhere relatively close to us, so Dana grabbed everybody and we got into our van to head back home.

In the car, I leaned my head on Dana's shoulder, occasionally grimacing in pain from the headache I had.

"Sorry for ruining your night. I know you really wanted to have fun, not go home early because I got sick." I said guiltily. He moved to look down at me, to find me already staring back at him.

"I'm not having fun while you're not feeling well, okay? You're not okay, and I'm not going to ignore that; you're worth more than that to me."

I nodded, barely paying attention to what was coming out of his mouth as I black out.

A/N: next chapter coming okay it's short but it's cute and I felt feels.

If I wrote a note to God
I would speak whats in my soul
I'd ask for all the hate to be swept away,
For love to overflow
If I wrote a note to God
I'd pour my heart out on each page
I'd ask for war to end
For peace to mend this world
I'd say, I'd say, I'd say
