Chapter 1
Is it really him?
*flashback, flashback*
I was on the slide and I fell off, and a boy came to help me up.
"Hi." "Hi. I'm Dana. What's your name?" "Sacha. You seem nice." "I am. Wanna be best friends?" "Sure!"
We had just moved there and so I didn't know much of anything here. We walked over to the grass and sat down, and began to play with our toys. The sun had started to go down and our moms came to tell us to say goodbye.
They exchanged numbers, but we never saw each other. Two weeks later, in the farmers market, we ran into each other again, and our mothers arranged for us to have our first official playdate.
We were painting. We wanted to surprise each other with our artwork, so we were looking away while working.
"Ready?" Dana asked me. I nodded and flipped my board over, as he did the same. We looked at the paintings and grinned. Thinking exactly the same, we ran to show our mothers, who were in the living room.
"Look!" We said at exactly the same time. "We both painted the day we met." Dana said. Our moms awed and swooned, while going to put up the paintings, and Dana grabbed my hand.
Looking into his eyes, I saw he knew what I was was thinking.
"Let's always be best friends. *Always." I grinned. "And forever."
I nodded and we hugged. Right before our moms came back, he leaned in and kissed me on the cheek.
Throughout the years, we got closer, sticking with each other through all of elementary school. Dana left after that, with a very illegitimate explanation, so I always felt abandoned. And now he's standing right in front of me.
*4 hours earlier*
"No bye babe." I say giggling at my boyfriend Kenny, who kept pulling me to his chest. "I have to go. Let me go!" I laugh as he pouts an adorable puppy dog face.
"Can't you pick up this lame cousin some other day? Please? Stay and lie with me." I shake my head. "I'll miss you." I tell him, heading towards the door. "I'll miss you more." He says back, staring longingly. I reach for him, with a mock despaired look on my face. "Wait!" He says, and I stop.
He comes up towards me, and without another word, puts his lips against mine gently. "Okay, you can leave now." He chuckles and watches from the door as I get into my car. I wave at him as I leave, and make my way to the airport.
My mom told me we had a "cousin" to meet in the airport, so I have to drive 4 hours to get there. I hope this "cousin" of mine like shallow hostility, because that's what she'll get.
Later...
When I arrive at the airport, I call my mom because she said she would meet me and she wasn't even here.
"Hello?" She asks when she answers. She doesn't sound like she's in an airport.
"Mom, where are you? You said you would meet me here but I don't even know where to look for you." She coughs on the other line. "Actually, change of plans. You have to pick up your cousin, and I'll meet you at the house."
What?!? "WHAT?!?" She sighs. "I just can't be there right now and since you're there, well, pick em up." I gasp disbelievingly, words unable to form in my mouth. Well, words I can say at my mother, more like.
"You better be smugling some Burger King." I say and hang up. I call back immediately. "What does this cousin look like?" "Don't worry, he'll know what to look for." And with that she hangs up.
He? He?!? Ugh, could this get any worse?
"Sacha?"
I stand corrected.
A/N: ooh, cliffhanger! Not really! I'm pretty sure we can all guess what's going on next, but I still want y'all to be surprised.
My mommy just walked in.•-• so comment what you would want about spoilers, follow, and have a super day/night! Also, *this is a line used by my favorite couple from one tree hill, Nathan and Haley Scott, so I thought I'd incorporate that. That was just my disclaimer :)
Close enough to start a war, all that I have, is on the floor. God only knows what we're fighting for, all that I say, you always say more.
