Misunderstood

chapter six: interview gone wild

Austin Carlile P.O.V.
Location: at Bryan Stars tour bus.

Taylor and I sit on the couch waiting for Bryan to set up his cameras for the interview he's doing with Taylor. I catch Taylor looking at me. She smiles. Earlier was nice, watching Netflix with her and eating pizza. She makes me happy. I haven't felt truly happy in a while.

"Alright Taylor! Come sit on this couch beside me. Interview time." Bryan says to Taylor doing a happy dance. She does as she's told. I give her a thumbs up. I watch her do the interview.
About 30 minutes later, I look up from my phone when I hear an interesting question Bryan asks her.
"So how's your love life? Any boy toys? Rumours are saying you and Austin Carlile from Of mice and men are a thing."
Taylor glances at me from behind the cameras. Shes obviously tongue tied.
"Well um. No actually. I'm single and always just having fun mingling amd you know thin-" I stand up interrupting her. What am I even doing? I sit next to her. She looks at me confused. I grab her face and kiss her passionately. I feel sparks ignite. This is the first we have ever kissed.
I can hear Bryan faintly in the background saying:
"Woahhh. This is unexpected."
I countinue kissing her a bit longer once I notice that she's actually kissing me back. I cup the back of her head and then stop. She looks me in my eyes blushing heavily and smiles. I'm guessing she notices that we're in the middle of an interview. She looks at Bryan and shrugs.
"We're just um.." she looks at me and then back at Bryan.
"Friends." She countinues. I feel my heart drop. I get up and walk out of the tour bus after giving her a confused and heart breaking look.
How could she even say that? I don't understand.

Taylor Momsen P.O.V.

After five more minutes of the interview. Bryan stars ends it. I give my thanks to him then quickly leave the tour bus looking for Austin. I feel bad for saying that me and him are just friends. I mean obviously we're sonething more but we're not even official yet and my management woukd hate the fact that I had a steady boyfriend. They don't want to see that.
I go to the Of mice and men tour bus. I barge in and see Alan with Phil.
"Guys! Have you seen Austin?" I ask. They both shrug. I put my head in my hands.
"Why what's happening?" Alan asks looking concerned. I shake my head and walk out if the tour bus bumping into a tall figure. I look up to see it's Austin. I sigh a relief. He looks at me with sad eyes and crosses his arms.
"I'm sorry for kissing you. I get it now. We're just friends." He speaks up looking down.
"Austin! No. Its not like that. I said that because I'm not even sure what we are and I had to say that because my management wouldn't want me to be steady with someone." I say.
He looks at me.
"So that's why? What will happen if we're boyfriend and girlfriend? We would have to keep it a secret?" He furrows his eyebrows.
"Yes..." I say.
".. I dont want to keep us a secret Taylor."
"Austin look. I like you so much okay? But that's how it would have to be."
Austin stays silent for a few.
"Okay.. anything for you Taylor." He finally speaks up. I hug him and he hugs me back.
"I want to take you out on a date." He whispers in my ear while hugging me. I nod my head smiling.
