Stopping in front of a vending machine, I turned to him.

"What is your problem with Jace?"

"Nothing, why would you think that?"

"You were shooting eye daggers at him, basically the whole time he was there."

He shrugged, I stared him down.

"What's the real reason? Please, tell me," I said with a softer, more sympathetic tone to my voice. " You can trust me."

I reached out to touch him on the shoulder to really show that I was being sincere. He looked at me with those nice green eyes.

"I don't want him here because," He said. "Because he doesn't even really know who Kate is and he comes rushing acting like he does. Then he's all over you holding your hand like the world came crashing down on you, when you clearly showed him you were fine before he showed up."

I looked at him with a questionable look on my face,

"And your point is?" i asked him.

"My point is, that he seems like he's faking."

I was taking back from his comment. It surprised me, seeing that James was a pretty nice guy after all and hearing him say something like this was ridiculous. Jace lying and putting on an act, sure I didn't know for a overly long period of time, 3 months to be exact, but he seem like a pretty real and down-to Earth kinda guy, not one who lie to you and put on an act.

Looking at him in complete and utter disbelief, I said,

"Oh faking it huh?"

"Yeah, I think he is."

"So you're telling me that poor innocent Jace is not the guy I think he is?"

"No, he's not."

"And you know him so well because?"

"Umm.., I don't.."

"Exactly, so why are you making this statement?"

"I just think there's something shady about him."

"Why? Why do you think that something is off about him?"

"Look, I don't know for sure, but I do notice they way he acts around you."

"Which is?"

"He fidgets a lot while he's around you, he plays it off as if he's nervous, but I know nervous twitching, and that's not it. He's being really affectionate with you, but I can tell he's not a very affectionate person, because he looks so uncomfortable while he's being affectionate with you. The way his body language is when he's around you, just doesn't seem like a guy who's really crazy about a girl."

Wow, James really did his homework on this guy. It's like he's watching everything about him, from the way he speaks to the way he eats, and it's kinda freaky. Like he's some secret agent that works for somebody who wants to get to know him and unlock all his secrets. Looking at him I was about to say, you were watching us that closely?

I thought better of that.

"Oh, wow, someone did their research."

"I just noticed these things. It's not like I was watching you guys on purpose."

Yeah right.

"Uhu, so anyways, I'll keep what you said in mind, let's head back so Kate doesn't send the swat team after us."

While I was trying to walk around James, he grabbed my arm, not forcefully, but strong enough where I paused.

He looked me deep in the eyes and said, "I'm warning you Sylvia, don't trust this guy, don't tell him everything about you, see if his words match up with actions, and keep an eye on him. There are things he's not telling you and at the first sign of trouble you get out of there, okay?"

With all this scary talk, I was beginning to get worried and really nervous, but I looked him deep in the eyes, and nodded. He released my arm, and we slowly and cautiously, made our way back to Kate's hospital room.

I think the new one is cool, but I can always make a different one, or keep it the same. If you guys had any different ideas for a book cover let me know!
