Chapter 24- Ending: Wakasa

*Wakasa's POV*

My face darkened as I entered the warehouse and heard a gunshot echo around me. Right after the gunshot was a scream.

I showed no sign of smiling as I ran to where I heard the shot fire.

*Calista's POV*

I felt the bullet pierce my leg and I screamed and fell to the ground with a thud. Tears formed in my eyes as I heard Willem laughing maniacally.

"AHAHAHA! I love that look on your face! That's the look of no escape." That was dark... It's strange... He wasn't like this in Ninja Assassin before! So, why is he...?

He got closer and put his gun in his pocket. His eyes were slanted as he ran his fingers through my hair. His fingers moved his way down my cheek and to my chin.

Tearing up again I called out for the one I loved.

Wakasa... Please save me...!

Willem opened his mouth but before he could speak-

The door slammed open and it made me jump. Willem calmly looked over and smiled coldly.

"Wakasa! Ah!!!" As I called out to him, Willem clenched my injured leg and stood up. Wakasa grabbed his weapon and dashed towards him. Willem pulled out his gun again and pointed it at Wakasa.

Even though it hurt to move, I stood on both legs and ran in front of Wakasa, spreading out Both arms.

Another gunshot fired and I felt another unbearable pain in my shoulder. "Calista!!!" I fell to my knees and looked up.

Willem was no where to be found. I looked back down and fell to my side. Wakasa ran to my aid and he looked like he was about to cry.

"Calista, I'm bringing you back to the hospital so I can treat your wounds! Just hold on!" He said and started to scoop me into his arms. I smiled at him weakly and whispered "I knew... You would come for me... Thank you..." My vision faded and I heard Wakasa's voice in the distance.

"Please don't leave me like this! You have to stay alive!"

Wakasa... As much as I fought it, I had gone unconscious.

I opened my eyes to find myself staring at the hospital ceiling. "Tch!" I tried to sit up but my arm hurt too much and I fell back onto the bed.

I looked to my side to see Wakasa. He sighed relived and put his hand to his head. "I thought I was going to lose you... You really scared me..."
"Sorry, I was being reckless... I just didn't want you to get injured, trying to protect me."

"Hahaha! I'm sure that's what the guy is suppose to say." Wakasa said with a chuckle. I smiled "I guess so, but I don't see a problem with wanting to protect someone they love."

Wakasa's eyes opened wide and I covered my mouth. "I... Uh... I mean..." I struggled to find words as I darted my eyes around the room. Wakasa's face then turned serious and he sat me up on the bed.

He put his hand on my cheek and before I knew it, his lips were on mine. I didn't have the energy to fight it. All I could do was wait.

Soon enough he parted lips with me and looked at me in the eyes. His eyes were full of passion. I couldn't help but stare back. Wakasa smiled and said

"I love you."

I blushed and wrapped my arms around his neck joyfully... But-

"O-ow!" My arm stung and I removed it from his neck. He grabbed a bandage and wrapped my arm up. Then he began to wrap my leg. I stared at his skillful movements as he wrapped me up.

Two weeks after that-

"Wakasa! We haven't went out in a while! Let's go someplace nice." I pouted spinning around in his spiny chair. "Alright, just let me clean up and we can leave."
"Yay!"

We cleaned up from his work and walked around. We walked past Iseya and heard someone call out to us.

"Where are you two lovebirds of to?" Sion stood at the front of Iseya smiling at us.

"Love birds!?" I asked embarrassed and Wakasa answered smiling. "We are on our way to a tea house."
"Oh, can I come too?" Sion asked innocently. "Nope, sorry. If you want to go so badly why don't you take Hotaka?" Wakasa said and waved goodbye.

Sion pouted from the front and then smiled watching us walk away.

His grip on his hand tightened and I smiled, squeezing it back.

Everyone always told me, that you only fall in love once.

That's not true because, every time I see Wakasa...

I fall in love again
