Shimura Kota was born in a problematic family.
Angry dad, angry mom, yells, screams, and sounds of things breaking was all that consumed his mind. His dad was busy working from money to feed the family, her mom was busy finding a new boyfriend. A child born in a messed up family, with no one to side on, with no one to love him properly and give him the attention he needs, results to an emotionally suppressed behavior.
What does it feel like to peacefully cry on your parents' arms?
What does it feel like to have your parents teach you a hobby?
What does it feel like to celebrate your birthday with them in genuine happiness?
He wants to feel all of it.
"Go away, you scum." Kota dismissed his own classmates who was trying to play with him in the corner. He was notorious for being the meanest bully in their nursery school, resulting to his parents being called to the place multiple times and they only came once.
It doesn't take long for Kota to determine which smile is a lie and which one is genuine. November 3 was the day he hated the most, the day of his birthday. He sits on the middle chair with his parents sing happy birthday to him with smiles that reach their ears as if nothing problematic happened, as if they weren't screaming at each other last night.
His dad was a firefighter, his mom was still unemployed but somehow able to bring in luxury gifts after going out. This night was no different, he was listening to another argument.
"How could you?! I loved you!" His dad yells from the bottom of his lungs
"I'm also this for Kota!" His mom rebutted.
"Doing what? Finding rich men to leech on?"
"Oh please, I'm just doing it for the money, for us. I still love you of course!"
Kota covers his ears as usual, sitting near his bedroom door.
"I even left my family just to marry you and take responsibility for our kid." His dad declares.
