Isabella's Office

The glow from the monitors in Isabella's office bathed her face in cool light as she spun her phone between her fingers. Somewhere in the house, the Dobermann let out a soft bark. She leaned forward and called.

Isabella:
"Get ready. Fifteen minutes."

Emma (on speaker):
"We're grounded, remember?"

Isabella:
"You're still breathing. That means you're ready."

Without waiting for a reply, she grabbed her black Ferrari keys and walked out, coat flowing behind her like a storm cloud.

10 Minutes Later

The black Ferrari tore through the estate gates like a beast unchained, tires screeching as it came to a perfect stop. Emma and Hannah were already waiting at the front door, grinning.

Enry (from the porch):
"Try not to murder anyone on the way back!"

Isabella (yelling back):
"No promises!"

They hopped in and the car shot off again, blending with the roar of the engine.

---
Downtown Boston - McDonald's

They pulled into the lot like they owned the building, which, technically, Isabella did. The Ferrari cut across two spaces without hesitation. Inside, they strolled up to the counter, giving their orders like a hit list.

Emma: Strawberry milkshake, twisted fries, chocolate donut

Hannah: Burger, Coke, fries

Isabella: iced latte caramella, chicken wrap, twisted fingers, coke, chocolate donut

They took their tray and moved to a table, avoiding the bar stools - Isabella hated being off-balance. The girls laughed, talked, and waited for their food to settle. As they began to eat, the door chimed behind them.

Isabella froze.

Her biological mother and father walked past. They didn't see her - but she heard them. Heard them say her name like it was a ghost.

Her jaw tightened.

Isabella (quietly):
"Let's get the fuck out of here."

No one asked why. They grabbed the food, ditched their trash, and were back in the car within seconds.

Boston Streets - Driving

The Ferrari weaved through traffic like it had no brakes. Emma sat in the passenger seat, arms folded.

Emma:
"I need coffee."

Isabella:
"Say less."

They rolled through the Starbucks drive-thru, and Isabella didn't even fully stop before ordering. Iced coffees were passed through the window, and once again, they were flying down the street, caffeine-fueled and chaotic.

---
Boston Harbor - Sunset

They pulled up to the edge of the harbor just as the sky turned amber. Boats rocked gently under the last of the sunlight. The three girls climbed out, found a bench, and just sat - letting the silence hug them.

Emma (softly):
"You'd really burn the world for them, huh?"

Isabella (without pause):
"In a heartbeat."

Hannah:
"You don't need to say 'I love you.' We know what it looks like with you. You protect. That's your language."

Isabella (half-smiling):
"Talking feelings is for people who aren't completely fucked."

They laughed. Dark, twisted, real.

Isabella pulled out a flask, unscrewed it, and calmly poured whiskey into her iced coffee.

Emma & Hannah (staring):
"Seriously?"

Isabella (deadpan):
"Oldest one here. I'm driving. Let me cope."

---

11:00 PM - Return Drive

The speakers were blasting - The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Lana Del Rey, The Neighbourhood.

Then... Tate McRae - "You Broke Me First."

They sang at the top of their lungs, windows down, hair flying, voices cracked from the weight of survival.

As the chorus hit, Isabella gripped the wheel tighter.

Isabella (to herself):
"Fuck... this is me."

---

Late Night - Villa Office

She didn't say anything once they got back. Just parked, handed Enry the keys, and walked straight to her office.

The ice latte sat forgotten beside her, half whiskey now.

She looked out the window at the quiet trees.

Isabella (softly):
"I'm completely fucked.
