The hospital room was quiet.

Isabella slowly swung her legs off the bed.

Matthew looked up immediately from the chair.

Matthew:
“You’re not serious.”

She stood carefully, holding the edge of the bed for balance.

Isabella:
“I am.”

Matthew walked over instantly.

Matthew:
“You were shot yesterday.”

Isabella:
“I’m aware.”

He crossed his arms.

Matthew:
“You’re not leaving this hospital.”

Isabella looked at him calmly.

Isabella:
“Victor Santoro is waiting in Barcelona.”

Matthew sighed slowly.

Matthew:
“And you think I’m letting you go alone?”

Isabella raised an eyebrow.

Isabella:
“You’re not letting me do anything.”

Matthew stepped closer.

Matthew:
“Then I’m coming with you.”

A small smile appeared on her face.

Isabella:
“I knew you would.”

LOCATION: BARCELONA – ABANDONED WAREHOUSE
Time: 01:07 AM

The basement door opened.

Thomas looked up first.

Mari pushed off the wall.

Allison straightened.

Gabriela Gvardiol watched silently.

Victor Santoro lifted his head slowly.

Footsteps echoed down the stairs.

Isabella appeared at the bottom of them.

Matthew walked beside her.

Victor stared.

Victor:
“You’re alive.”

Isabella walked calmly across the room.
Even injured, her presence filled the space.

She stopped in front of him.

Isabella:
“You sound disappointed.”

Victor laughed weakly.

Victor:
“I shot you.”

Isabella nodded.

Isabella:
“Yes.”

She leaned slightly closer.

Isabella:
“And yet here I am.”

Victor swallowed.

Victor:
“You should be dead.”

Isabella looked at the others briefly.

Then back at Victor.

Isabella:
“You made one mistake.”

Victor smiled.

Victor:
“What’s that?”

Isabella’s voice dropped.

Cold.

Isabella:
“You missed, but you have two options to tell me the name or die."

Victor:
“La Corte Nera...Matias."

She pulled the gun from Matthew’s jacket slowly.

Victor’s smile disappeared.

Victor:
“You wouldn’t—”

The shot echoed through the basement.

Victor’s body went still.

Silence followed.

Allison exhaled quietly.

Mari:
“Well.”

Thomas nodded slightly.

Thomas:
“That solves that problem.”

Matthew looked down at Isabella.

Matthew:
“Feel better?”

She handed the gun back.

Isabella:
“Yes.”

LOCATION: BARCELONA – PEDRALBES DISTRICT (Isabella’s Mansion)
Time: 02:18 AM

The gates opened slowly.
The mansion beyond them was enormous.

White stone walls.
Glass balconies.

Gardens stretching across the hillside.

Matthew looked around as the car stopped.

Matthew:
“You live here?”

Isabella stepped out.

Isabella:
“When I’m in Spain.”

Matthew looked back toward the house.

Matthew:
“And you hate hospitals this much?”

Isabella walked toward the entrance.

Isabella:
“I’d rather bleed on marble floors.”

Matthew shook his head slightly.

Matthew:
“You’re impossible.”

Inside, the house was quiet.
Soft lights illuminated the hallway.
Isabella moved slower now.
The adrenaline was fading.
Matthew noticed immediately.

Matthew:
“Sit.”

She looked at him.

Isabella:
“I’m fine.”

Matthew:
“You’re not.”

He gently guided her toward the bedroom.
The room overlooked the entire city.
Large windows.
Dark blue night sky beyond them.

Isabella sat on the edge of the bed.
Matthew looked at her carefully.

Matthew:
“You’re staying here tonight.”

Isabella:
“I wasn’t planning on leaving.”

He didn't hesitate.

Matthew:
“I’m not leaving either.”

She looked up at him.

Isabella:
“You don’t have to stay.”

Matthew answered quietly.

Matthew:
“I want to.”

She studied him for a moment.
Then nodded once.

Later, the lights were dim.
Isabella lay back against the pillows.
Matthew lay beside her on the other side of the bed.
The room was silent except for the distant sound of the city.
After a moment she spoke quietly.

Isabella:
“You’re still awake.”

Matthew looked at the ceiling.

Matthew:
“Yes.”

She turned slightly toward him.

Isabella:
“Why.”

Matthew glanced at her.

Matthew:
“Making sure you’re still breathing.”

A faint smile appeared on her face.
She reached over and took his hand.

Isabella:
“I’m not dying tonight.”

Matthew squeezed her hand gently.

Matthew:
“Good.”

Outside, Barcelona slept beneath the lights of the harbor.

Inside the mansion—

For the first time since Verona—

Isabella finally felt safe.
