Breathe (Cheryl Fanfic)

Chapter 8

Simon sits down beside Lisa as they wait for the doctor to come out from the double doors.

"I didn't know she was an orphan" He whispers as he rests his head against the white wall. "It didn't crossed my mind".

"A lady gave her to us. She was found behind the bushes near a car accident eleven years ago. So I'm guessing her parents are involved in the crash." Simon's head darted to Lisa as soon as he heard the word car accident.

"Where is Jake now?"

"He died...From a car accident. Now there's no chance that I'll be able to find Isabella"

A spark of hope was felt in Simon's heart. Its like all the bits and pieces are slowly coming together and it only leads to one possibility.

Athena might be Isabella

"This is the second time we rescued her and this is by fa-"

"Wait, second?"

"Yea"Lisa looks up to Simon and sighs. She closed her eyes remembering the day.

The police entered the house where they found a man hovering at a screaming Athena, her top is already thrown on the floor.

"Stop what you're doing. You're under arrest." Athena took this chance as she staggers away until her back hits the wall. She curled up clutching her chest as she cries her heart out.

Lisa stormed in the house and saw the scene. All she can see is red. She stormed to the man as she screams and punches him till the police held her back.

"F*cking b*stard" She screams before the police leads the man out of the house. She then rushed to Athena and slowly touched her arm but Athena shrugs it off immediately.

"Baby, its okay.. Everything is going to be fine." The little girl's sobs just grew and Lisa watched her with tears daring to come out from her eyes.

"Baby, its gonna be okay" She whispers as she attempt to touch the girl's arm and this time, Athena didn't pull away.

The girl looks up and when she saw Lisa. She launched herself to her crying uncontrollably in her arms. She took off her jacket and wrapped it around the girl as she lifts her up and made their way out of the house.

She then promised to herself that she won't let anything happen again to Athena.

"She was almost raped" Simon sat back to his seat taking it all in. Athena's too young to be facing these problems, she's not suppose to be having them.

"After that she became sick..was diagnose with post traumatic stress disorder.. She doesn't eat, talk, go out of her room and most of the nights she would have an episode." All these information Simon's getting makes him face the reality. The reality that people can be so cruel.

He wants to help Athena. He wants to change her back to the way she was back then. He wants to see her smile..A proper smile.

Hours later, a doctor walked out of the double doors making them shoot out of their seat and rushed towards him

"How is she?" Lisa asked in desperation. He looks at his clipboard before looking up to them.

"She's stable." The two let out a breath of relief. They were glad that the little girl is already safe.

"We stitched her deep cuts and we put dressings on her burns and fresh wounds specially her back. We put both her legs in a cast and it may heal for about two weeks. Its a good thing you brought her here just in time. Cause if I'm being honest with you. She almost didn't make it. You can see her in a few minutes." And with that the doctor walk back to the room leaving the two in relief and at the same time in pure sadness.

"Lisa, Are you going to stay overnight?" Lisa nods her head and gave him a small smile.

"You know you can go home. Cheryl is probably waiting for you. Just go back in the morning if you want to see her." As much as Simon doesn't want to leave, He knows Lisa was right. His wife is probably waiting for him at home. So he found himself nodding.

"So see you tomorrow, oh and by the way thank you for helping out earlier." Simon let out a smile before they said their goodbyes. But before he walks away, he remembers something.

"Lisa"He called

"What?"

"What is her favourite flower?" Lisa lets out a smile upon hearing this.

"White roses" Simon's heart stopped. Cheryl's favourite flower is white roses too.

"White roses?"

"Yea, she loves them..Now go" He nods before walking away. Now its freaking him out.

Athena might be Isabella

The thought was circling around his mind. He was trying to figure out the possibility and it was driving him crazy. Is it possible that he already found his wife's long lost daughter.

Simon just got home and went straight to their room where he finds her wife hugging his pillow and it brought a smile on his face.

She's adorable.

He removed his shoes and slipped in the bed taking his pillow carefully out of Cheryl's hold trying not to wake her up but he failed as Cheryl starts to stir.

Her eyes landed on Simon making her smile. Simon fixed their position as Cheryl resr her head on his chest.

"How's your hand?" Cheryl asked as she raised Simon's hand planting a kiss on it.

"Its better." Simon said with a smile on his face.

"So..How is she?" Cheryl whispers which made Simon's smile fade.He wanted to rell Cheryl what he had observed, what he had learned about Athena. That there's a possibility that Athena might be her daughter. But he doesn't want to give Cheryl false hope. It'll just break her even more.

"She's stable" He whispers as he placed a kiss on top of his wife's head.

"D-did you see her?"

"Tomorrow morning. Do you want to come?" Cheryl looks up to him and gave him a smile as she nods her head. He placed a gentle kiss on her forehead before laying back in bed. He was rired.

"You're phone has been going off. You're in trouble for disappearing in the middle of the show." When Simon didn't respond, Cheryl looks up to find him already asleep making her smile. She lifts herself up placing a kiss on his cheek.

"Goodnight my big man." She whispers before resting her head on his chest and slipping into dreamland as well.
