Chapter 55

Author's P.O.V.
"Time to wake up princess." Athena slowly opens her eyes and find her father smiling down to her which made her mirror it as she rub her eyes and sigh.

"Goodmorning missy." She giggles and it made the smile on Simon's lips grew wide hearing the joy in his daughter.

"Where's Mam?"

"Still asleep sweetie, she had a long day yesterday. She's just tired." The little girl smile and stretched her arms before Simon took them helping her up taking her in his arms.

"Daddy, today will go to the hospital right. I'd have my final session and they will get tests. I'll be okay right. I'm already better right."

"Woah slow down..I'm surprised how hyper you are in this time of the day." This made Athena giggle as she pulled away and sat on her father's lap resting her head on his chest.

"I just feel it. I'm not sick anymore." She looks up to him and smiled and it made Simon melt. Seeing how positive his little girl is so overwhelming. He placed a kiss on top of her head and hugged her tight.

"I know baby. I know you're not sick anymore cause you fought it. And I'm very proud of you." Athena released a giggle before they fall into a comfortable silence.

"Do you want to wake up your Mam?" Simon suddenly asked and it made Athena nod at him so he lifted her up and carried her as they made their way to their bedroom to find Cheryl and Eric already cuddled up in bed making the two exchange looks with a smile.

"Daddy, maybe we should let them sleep first." Athena whispered in her father's ear before looking back to them. Just the sight of them makes Athena melt and she doesn't want to wake them up because they're so peaceful.

"Okay sweetie. Let's have breakfast then"Athena smiled and nod.

"I like the sound of that."

Cheryl stares at her daughter on the hospital bed as she holds her hand in hers. She was positive. Positive that this might be her last therapy and that the tests will turn out well because it shows. The changes in her little girls tells it all

She's getting better

Her lips touched their intertwined hands lightly and a smile form on her face. She's happy yet she's still nervous about tomorrow because the test will be revealed tomorrow. And its a good thing they don't have auditions to attend to and tomorrow will be intended for something more important.

The creaked of the door made Cheryl look up and saw Simon carrying Eric just walked in before they greeted her with a smile which she gladly returned.
"Has she woken up?" Simon asks as he gives Cheryl a peck before turning to Athena.

"Not yet.." She whispered then turned to her son. She lets go of her hand and open her arms for Eric which made little Eric smile and held out his arms out making Cheryl took him from Simon placing a kiss on top of his head and hugging him tight.

"Mammy, when will Athena wake up?" The innocent boy asks making the brunette smile before looking back to her daughter.

"Soon bubba..Athena's still tired she needs her sleep." The little boy nods and smile to his mother showing those dimples he inherited from Cheryl making her look at him in awe.

"I hope soon she'll wake up so we can play." Eric says looking at his sister before leaning back to his mother. Cheryl smiled as she looks up and caught Simon's stare making him smile and raised his brows.

"Oh right, I can stay here with Athena later tonight and you and this little monkey here go home and have some rest okay." Cheryl lets out a giggle and nod at him before taking his hand on her shoulder.
All is going well and they are just hoping for the results to be positive and wait for their daughter to wake up. They just have to stay positive on this.

The morning came and all are holding their breaths waiting for the doctor to reveal the results. It's like waiting for years when its just minutes. They are scared, excited, nervous. They all have mixed emotions.

But when a smile appeared on the doctors face says it all as they let out a breath and a huge wave washed over them and a huge weight have been lifted from their shoulders.

"She's all free." The doctor confirmed and with this Cheryl's tears of happiness have spilled before she turned to her daughter who seemed to be frozen and still trying to take in the news. Cheryl immediately took Athena in her arms as Simon placed Eric on the bed who immediately launched himself at his sister bringing her out of her thoughts.

"We did it princess..You did it.. I'm so proud of you!" Simon says in pure happiness in his voice as he showered Athena kisses on top of her head and that's when it sinks in making the tears fall as she hugged her little brother tight burrying her head on his little shoulder. And this made Cheryl smile and place kisses on his children's head.

This is probably the happiest day for the Cowell family. As Athena was declared cancer-free, this veought total relief and pure joy in them and now all they have to do is make memories together because they are now complete. Athena is going to live and she would be with her family from now on until she grows old and she was feeling like she's on top of the world.

"Mammy, I'm all clear." Athena whispers as her mother tucked her in bed. Athena was allowed to go home earlier so she ask to be discharge as soon as possible. And now she's warm in the comfort of her home. And still she can't believe what happened today.

"Yes you are my Bella Bear." Cheryl said softly as she tapped her daughter's nose making her scrunched it and it made Cheryl lets out a giggle.

"I'm not gonna die. I'm gonna stay and I can't believe it." She grinned making Cheryl smile as she placed a kiss on top of her forehead before pulling back and stare at her daughter taking her hand in hers.

"I'm so proud of you sweetie."

"I wouldn't have made it if it wasn't for all of you. My family." Cheryl smiles. Athena smiled and sat up and placed a kiss on her mother's cheek.

"Thank you Mammy." She says before placing a soft kiss on her forehead. " For not giving up on me." Athena's hands made its way on her mother's face making Cheryl look at her in awe.

"For taking good care of me." She placed a kiss on the tip of her nose making her scruched it and it made them both giggle.

"For loving me and accepting me.in the family." Athena launched herself to her Mam and higgrd her tight. Cheryl was getting emotional but still.manage to keep it together hugging her daughter tight.

"I won't stop taking good care of you..accepting you...loving you and most importantly I won't and will never give up on you. I love you very much my angel." Athena took in those words with an open heart as her eyes filled with happy tears as she burried her head on her shoulders as her mother's words touched her heart in every way.

"I love you too Mam..So much" she whispers before pulling away and smile at her Mam. Cheryl wiped the tears on the corner of the little girl's eyes and replacing it with kisses. Before deciding to join her daughter in bed and holding her as she starts to hum the tune she made for her. And soon Athena's eyes starts to shut as the soothing melody brings her to sleep with a smile on her lips. And as she totally slipped into dreamland, being in her mother's arms and hearing her tune makes hee know she's safe that no one's going to hurt and soon she slipped off with pure love surrounding her.
