Q1. Why do you write?
Answer: I write to keep my life (and brain) in balance. My day job is full of numbers, reports, and administrative nightmares. Writing lets me create a world I'd like to be a part of and get lost in the fantasy.
Q2. What is the hardest part of writing for you?
Answer: The hardest part of writing for me is finding the time. With a full-time job and a family, by the time I have a bit of "free" time (in quotes because it's not really free - it's instead of something else I need to get done), I'm usually exhausted.
Q3. Where do you get your inspiration?
Answer: I get inspiration from everything - music, movies, travel, the people around me. I even have a story idea that I got from an eHarmony commercial (that's an online dating site).
Q4. Do you have any strange writing habits, if any, what are they?
Answer: My strangest writing habit is not that I take notes - probably most writers do - but that I write them on little scraps of paper. My best ideas usually come to me on my commute to and from work when I'm in the car. I never learn, so I usually don't have a proper notepad, and instead jot down ideas or even lines of dialogue on donut or gas receipts that are lying around!
Q5. What book do you wish you could have written?
Answer: I don't envy other writers' works. Those are personal and I know I couldn't have created them in the same way. I do envy the recent success of authors like Stephenie Meyer, Suzanne Collins or EL James just for their impeccable timing and filling of a void. Starting a trend seems like the key to literary success these days and it's part luck and perhaps part genius :)
