Q1. How important are names to you in your books?

Answer: I like to ensure that the names are accurate for the culture and era that my characters live in. Other than that, I don't work to hard to create any kind of symbolism with the names. It's more important to me that the names are all different enough that my readers won't confuse the characters.

Q2. What book do you wish you could have written?

Answer: Believe it or not, Jan Karon's Home to Harmony. She creates the most memorable characters of any author I've read. After I read her books, I felt like I had new friends in Harmony and hated it when the last book was written. I want to be able to create characters like that.

Q3. Where do you get your inspiration?

Answer: Real life. I find that one work of non-fiction or a TV documentary can provide me with enough material to write several series.

Q4. How did you discover Wattpad?

Answer: My writing partner, Gina Conroy. She tried it and didn't gain many followers. I did the same. Then someone told me it was actually a social networking platform and that I had to come out of my hidey-hole and be friendly.

Q5. Why do you write?

Answer: Honestly, it's the only thing I've ever been good at. I grew up loving novels and wrote short stories in junior high school. Too bad there wasn't a community like Wattpad then, I might have been encouraged to stick with it.

Q6. What projects are you working on outside of Wattpad?

Answer: I'm just finishing my Cherry Hill series. I've spun off a character from that series and sent her to Detroit to be a demon-fighting shapeshifter. That's my Darla The Alpha Cat series. Although that is being posted here on Wattpad, the adult companion version is not. That is entitled Night Moves and involves a Detroit gang unit detective who stumbles upon a gang that turns drug addicts into demon hosts. He and Darla will cross paths several times this season. It takes a lot of up front planning to pull off a project like this, but I love the challenge.
